Get your RPAL, not just plain PAL. You can't have anything shipped to you until you have the license.
Some older rifles and shot guns. Unsure on the current registration status. Guess I have plenty of time anyhow as hunting season will be likely over before I could manage to get it all taken care of.

You do not have to register long guns (generally referring to hunting rifles and shotguns). Unless they meet certain requirements to make them restricted in which case things are much more complicated.

And a quick google search quote from the RCMP...

You may ship restricted firearms, non-restricted firearms and prohibited handguns from one Canadian location to another Canadian location if you use the most secure method offered by Canada Post that requires a signature upon delivery. Prohibited firearms, other than prohibited handguns, and firearms being shipped across the Canadian border, must be shipped by an individual or carrier company licensed under the Firearms Act to transport those classes of firearms.

You are required by law to ship firearms unloaded and in a safe and secure manner to deter loss, theft and accidents.
All of this information is explained when you take the CFSC which is why i mentioned earlier that you need to focus on getting licensed (and taking the course) first. The process takes a very long time between getting booked into the course and waiting periods particularly if you attempt to get a Restricted designation.

You will not have the guns this year even under a best case scenario.

The required reading for the CFSC is attached here: http://firearmslaw.ca/wp-content/upl...FSC-Manual.pdf

Thanks man. Exactly the info I was looking for. I guess I'll just take the course, and start thinking about getting into hunting next season.

Where is everyone buying .308 Win/7.62x51? Must be non-corrosive, I don't want to strip and clean every time I shoot.

    Prefer bulk as well.

That's usually where I get ammo, all the usual channels seem to be dried up. You should get a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 if you don't already have one, seems to be an endless supply of cheap corrosive 7.62x54. So what if you gotta take down and clean after each session? Dirt cheap! I ordered some from these guys, super fast shipping.

I just picked up a Israeli K98 in .308 and so far the cheapest I've found in Calgary was Federal XM80CL 7.62x51 at Calgary shooting center, like 17 or 18$ for 20.

    308 can get quite expensive
If you shoot 308 but don't reload let me know I could always use more 223/308 brass

I might need to start thinking about that haha. What's your usual cost per round reloading?

Depends on what kind of components you are using
Right now my plinking ammo/practice ammo (308/7.62x51)
    Prvi 150gr (.14)
    Winchester Primer (.04)
    43gr 4064 ($36/lb) (.22)
Plus brass range / once fired (free / .15)

With old brass/range brass it comes to about 0.4/round
With once fired brass its 0.55/round

    My precision match round is
    175 Sierra Match king (.40)
    Winchester Primer (.04)
    42.5gr Varget ($38/lb) (.23)
Usually once fired/second fired Winchester (.15/free)
    Or Lapua (.60)
But Lapua you can get around 10 loads or more per case

With old brass/range brass it comes to about 0.67/round
With once fired brass its 0.82/round

But 308 brass is very easy to find at like Sibbald/Range or what not as people blast federal 308 and leave the brass everywhere. I think I have over 500 cases that I found at ranges that are once fired (you can tell by the blue sealant still on the primers)

223 the cost are very close to Norinco you just get more accurate/less smelly/less chance to get brass holes.
My reloaded 223 is about .28/rd versus .33/rd for norinco

How do you find the Norinco .223 brass compared to a domestic brass in terms of reloading and longevity?

I have a pretty big tub of norinco brass laying around ill use it if I run out of domestic brass
the 1995 stuff I only reload twice
the 1992/1992 yellow box norinco you can get 5-6 reloads
which puts it very close to federal
But never hurt to collect brass just incase you want to start reloading some day

Anyone know where to get scrap AR500 steel to make some targets from? Or anyone have some targets they want to sell? Looking for 3-8" circles/squares

Where do Beyonders go accessorize for your sport shooting needs? (Holster, belts, bags, fashionable gears, etc..)

Do our local physical stores have good equipment/price/selection (trying to support local, even if 5% more than online)

I'm more on the indoor target, pistol, carbine, urban tactical related, "SWAT feel". (NOT outdoor/hunting/duck commander)

    TIA

911 supply has a lot of gear. Shitty hours though. They have a decent website to browse as well.

Since they sell a lot of stuff to actual swat (ert) I think they will suit your needs. Can be expensive but in this hobby what isn't.
