Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
I think you need to buy a membership to pay the guest fees.
Same facility as Strive Fitness. Nice one stop shop for a lot of activities. too bad it's on the other side of the city.
heloc that shit
$22 per hour if purchasing less than 15 hours
$20 per hour if purchasing 15 or more hours
$20 per year if join from opening date until 31st December this year
$25 per year if join from 1st Jan, 2012
Guest fees $5 per visitOK so how it would work is, you pay the $20 for membership. Pay in advance 15 hours X $20 =$300 (split it with whoever). When you show up, you pay the $7 drop in/person? And you can play as long as you want on that court and they will debit your account accordingly? Is that how it works?Fees $5 per session with minimum 15 sessions purchase.
Walk-in is $7 per session (need to pay guest fees $5 per visit)
Friday Night (4 hours)
8 pm - 12 midnight
Fees $10 per member
Number of courts 6

U ever need extras for Sunday jwslam?
my dad doesn't play anymore but i still keep on going with them
avg age is like 40 but there's a wide range of skill levels
it's all doubles play and games go by pretty fast and it's kinda free-for-all for courts
you could probably come check out the people and see their skill level this coming sunday
930am-12pm @ YWCA downtown. It'll be $7
I don't know how pricing's gonna change once we move to Sunridge the following week.
pm me if you want my number or anymore info
UPDATE
$30 for every tuesday now til end of July.
or $7 per session
6-8pm all sessions
All at YWCA on 5th Ave and MacLeod downtown.
You can PM me for the contact person (it's not me)
I'll be going tomorrow for sure even though i'm crippled
The crew is pretty young (uni kids)
Come help out because the organizer is having trouble recruiting (last week they only had 15 people for six courts and running a loss)
played sunridge on the weekend.
nice facility. lots of courts. it'll be interesting to see how this changes the badminton community in calgary.

Seriously? I was so disappointed by the stuffy warehouse with inadequate changing facilities... Didn't even have a water fountain...Originally posted by in*10*se

^^ Was just going to say that. It's seriously just a badminton facility and nothing else haha, not even a water fountain. I usually barely break a sweat but I was sweating like crazy because it was so stuffy, plus being out of shape didn't help I guess. But all in all it's nice to have grippy courts instead of sliding everywhere on dusty gym floors. The flourescent lighting and green theme takes a bit getting used to as well.
CAn you guys explain how the pricing works because I still don't get it and I'm too lazy to pick up the phone and ask a bunch of questions lol
How much does it cost to go in?
How long can you book a court for?
If I have 4 players total, how much would it cost total.

it doesn't matter how much it costs. you're too poor to afford it after the dumb bets.

TO MY UNDERSTANDING
You pay the $20
and you can do the $5 drop in for the times they have
I really don't understand the hourly court thing haha
OH
And they're anal on court shoes.
but they have $3 rentals available too.
and another bump for my buddy:
6-8pm badminton tuesdays

Been there a few times now and here's the price break down.
If you attend the drop in sessions all you need to pay is the $5 guest fee or the anual membership for $20. That's only 4 times per year so it's a no brainer if you plan to play a lot or even casually.
If you want to play during non drop in times you need to buy court hours. $20/hr if you buy more then 15 and $22/hr if you buy less then 15 and you can use them however you please. I think if you buy a lot of hours you can negotiate a better rate. But that's just for the courts, you still need to pay either the $5 guest fee or the $20 anual membership to get in.
The $3 shoe rentals are pretty brutal so make sure your soles are light colored. Even if they are non marking soles they will tell you to get off the court. It's ironic because their shitty $3 rentals marks up the floors more then any other indoor shoes.
Going in groups is a lot cheaper if you can find someone to orgainize it.
That doesn't make sense that they'd let you drop in unlimited for $20/year...Originally posted by topmade

Yea, even if it's 20 dollars for just the drop in time frame, that still seems extremely cheap. Can anyone who has played there confirm that?
Sorry you're right, I just called to confirm and on top of the $5 guest or $20 membership fee, you need to pay $5/session if you buy more then 15 or $7/session for less then 15.Originally posted by jwslam

Where is a cheap place to go play a game near downtown that will rent racquets out?
Also, how long is a session?
Who's playing in the CCC this year and what division? We'll be in the red division.
Anyone know what birdies they use? I'm going to buy a bunch on the companies expense
I'm in the red division.
The captain is still deciding on the teams.
