I think it was the fact that he was suffering for so long. It wasn't a clean kill, it was sadism in the most extreme, disgusting way. I had come to terms with him dying, just not like THAT.
Also, I REALLY need to stop watching this show while eating dinner or snacking. Never fails, and somehow I still haven't learned
