Default Tv help, what to buy?

Looking at either of these 2 tvs as I want a 70"+ without breaking the bank. I can get either at $2000. Guy at visions say go wth the 70 instead of 75 as picture n motion is better but I don't understand why or how? If y'all could
Give some insight and suggestions. I want size and mostly used for sports movies and maybe some gaming

    Neither one.
You stated that you will be watching a lot of sports with the refresh rate 120 you will definitely see the lag.
I have 240 Motion rate and I can definitely see the lag when I watch sports.

Size, games, and sports? A projector will by far give you the best of all 3 capabilities, but the room has to be suitable for it.

If it's a living room TV with tons of windows everywhere and mostly casual viewing, just buy the cheapest, biggest, TV from a good brand that suits your basic requirements. If it's a dedicated theater or media room, I would get a projector.

The sharp you mentioned was just recently on sale for $1900 I think?
I believe there was a couple threads on RFDs for it going that price at Costco and Visions.
After seeing that deal, I'd hold off until Christmas. There's bound to be some really good deals.
That TV was $3400 when it was first released. If you're in a hurry go with the Haier brand from Costco. Bought the 65" for $750. Some people complain about the small stuff but I've been using it for almost a year now and for the money you just can't beat it

Depends how much in a hurry you are.
Wait out and see if Costco has any. When I bought my TV I went to Visions, the Tv's were great but were out of my budget. The sales rep did the usual scare story of how Costco's are last year models and don't have the same features etc.

I got my TV from Costco waaay cheaper. It does not have all the latest features... BUT..its still a TV. i can still play games, watch sports etc.

Going off of just those specs it looks like the second one just has better contrast/color and of course it's bigger.

Then don't waste your money on things like black levels. Just buy the biggest one you can because it's not going to be able to look its best anyway.

IMHO most people don't really notice motion ghosting even at 60Hz (especially if your TV is going up on a wall far away from the seating), and ghosting is WAYYYYY nicer to look at than the simulated motion modes all these TVs have that make everything look like a soap opera filmed with a handi-cam.

This is where plasmas (RIP) and projectors (doesn't suit your room) have enormous advantages. OLEDs solve the issue too but prices are too high in the large sizes still.

Personally I would I pick up an Vizio M in your price range.

I own both the P series and the M Series and I have been extremely impressed with both models.
