Wynn Encore is my favorite for a 5 star. Rooms are very nice and the pool is awesome and never that busy but its a little bit out of the way.

Aria and Cosmo are my go to as the location, price and quality are tough to beat.

Another interesting option if you don't gamble is the four seasons. they don't have a casino is its a lot quicker to get out and they have a bunch of house cars (A7's) that they will drive you to other places on the strip. The food choices there are fantastic. Charlie Palmer Steak House is amazing and normally has an awesome deal called the cut of the week. it changes weekly but includes bottomless wine pairing for around 50 something a person.

Do not stay off the strip if its your first time in Vegas.... You are going to want to wander the strip and explore, no need to make it more difficult by staying off the strip.

Just booked a 2 bedroom PH at Bellagio with an extra room. It's my step-fathers 60th bday, he has never been to Vegas. I think this will be the only Vegas trip he'll need.

My only concern is I've only ever done 4 days max in Vegas, after that I'm usually over it or feeling like death is the next step if I keep going. This trip is 8 days, it's possible that no one survives.

8 days!! That is a long time to spend in Vegas! The most I've done is 6 days and I was ready to go home (or not touch any sort of alcohol) by end of day 5.

Also 8 days PH in Bellagio Crazy

I don't think I could do anymore than 4 days on the strip...

I've gone to Vegas twice in the last year. I'm not going back for a decade unless SEMA.

For a Vegas virgin, it should not be hard to blow 4-5 days as long as you line up with dinners/shows. Don't limit yourself to the strip, go to Freemont as well. Day time is gonna be hot, so you are probably stucked at the pool or casinos.

But you definitely need to do some excursions to Hoverdam or grand canyon.

Pace yourselves people. We stay about 5 days each time and it's never long enough. Not saying I'd live there but it's a big city with world class entertainment/dining on and off the strip. Just go easy on the booze and make sure you have a rental car to get yourself off the strip. 8 days without leaving the strip is a long time.

That's true. I think we've been to Vegas so many times that we just go party and eat. We don't even bother going outside beyond a 2-hotel radius any more, so 5 days fell long.

If it's for my firstand only Vegas trip, I think I would want to do at least 1 day Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon, 1 day downtown, 1-2 days walking around the strip, 2 party days, 2 pool days, 1 shopping day (outlet mall, fashion show mall, Forum, Miracle Miles), 1 day at the race track, couple of shows/concerts... 6-8 days is totally doable.

Only bad thing about 8 days in Vegas is that its a money pit. Every hour you stay there they will suck more money out of you. Its a fantastic time cut gets crazy expensive fast.
I could do 8 days, pool parties, gun range, car racing, shows, tons of good places to eat.... just wouldn't want to see the credit card bill after lol

I've never stayed there 8 days, but have done 4.5 days which for a guys trip was too much haha. If its a party trip 3 days tops.

Anything else with family or a lady friend should be easy to stretch out. Hell you can kill an entire day at the outlet mall, easy. Plus an entire day on Freemont Street. Couple shows at night. Couple full days at the pool and your week is gone.

I've only ever done 4 days max I think and I've always left saying "fuck, that was enough", but this time I'm going to be hanging by the pool the first 4 days and then my mother, sister and step-father get it on Wednesday and I'll be entertaining them for their first time in Vegas and my step-father's 60th bday, so it's not going to be too crazy.

Need to plan your days with options and then the day of decide what you actually want to do, but planning a few things for each day and space them out. I find that people always try to cram too much stuff into a day and then get home from a vacation feeling like they need to unwind.

I'll be working from the room during the day while the gf will be by the pool. It's going to be our normal routine, just in Vegas rather than home or somewhere else.

My first time I did Vegas cheap, bought booze for cheap and walked the strip, just did free shit that I could get my hands on, with some shows. Second time I spent money and had a good time also, this time it'll be different. While I do gamble at the BJ tables, that's why everything is comped for us. The last trip I made 8k on the first day and they agreed to comp my stay and move me to a suite for the duration. In total, our expenses for the duration were close to 6k, I ended up losing back about 7k of the 8k I won on the first day, over the duration (mind you I was up and down, it wasn't one big dump). This trip they've comped everything before I come simply based on my potential, but little do they know I'm coming down to relax. I'll gamble hard the first day and maybe one other day, but I'm expecting my comps to total more than my losses. Will I get away with this, maybe this trip. It's all still fairly new to me.

Exactly, 4 days with the gf, then another 4 with family, it should be ok.

Last time I went down for a bachelors party I won $6600 the first night, spent about $3k that night. Then the second day won back $2k then spent about $1.5k. Then lost like $2k the last day to come back up about $2k before expenses of the trip (flight.hotel)

Now I get emails offering comps all the time but don't feel like going to Vegas anytime soon.

I've done 14 days, but I also had my car so I was able to go other places on my own like visiting friends in Henderson. 3-4 days is the max if I'm only planning on staying around the strip. By day 3 your senses are so overloaded that you either need 1 good day inside and away from everyone/thing, or you just want to leave.

You don't have to win or lose a few K, they just want to see what kind of player you are. With BJ, they rate your play by your average betting per hour. I could play 8 hours at $100 hand and wouldn't earn the comps of playing 1 hour at $500 hand.

Depending on where you were playing (and with those amounts, it shouldn't matter), if you're using your players card, you'll get really good comps within the first day, like all of your expenses covered for the trip.

This is really good advice actually. It can be a fun game also.

I plan on taking at least 1-2 days during the trip to not leave the confines of the resort, possibly the room.

What's the best way to rent a car? i.e. pre-book here for lowest/cheapest car, then go and see if they will give you deals on upgrades? Book for pickup at airport or at a place in the city? Usually I pre-book and pick up at the airport so just wondering if there are better ways to get better deals or rides. Thanks.
