EDIT: I just read some other articles and it seems like you/we might be entitled to the $5000 and a buyback option. This is going to cost VAG a shitload of money.

I would think owning a '15 TDI would mean some compensation and getting your vehicle 'fixed'. Obviously I don't know, but I think the newer vehicles are the least likely to be bought back.

I don't think the Touareg has the 2.0 litre engine though, or has it been expanded again to all TDI engines?

No it doesn't. There was some kind of probe into the V6's but i think its small potatoes to the EPA due to the sheer difference in scale between number of 2.0's and the 3.0's in the US.

I doubt you'll be able to come close to VW's buyback prices. $5k + pre dieselgate used prices.

Any ideas what they're doing with the buybacks? Fixing them or crushing them?

buyback hasn't been confirmed on specific models/years yet. VW publicly issued a very vague report to buy themselves more time, June 21st I believe is the deadline. The TDI Touaregs might not even be part of the buy back.

If vw does decided to buy anything back I can see them sending them to Asian/india where emissions aren't a big deal.

Yeah, I haven't even had my tdi for a year and I've already been to the dealerships almost a dozen times. This emission problem is just another thing added to my list of never buying a vw again. Depending on buyback we will see what I do with the vehicle.
