I was reading BigMass' post and saw that he had 100% rating and was wondering what he was complaining about.. then I saw rage2 post.

I wonder what the buyback would be? I have a 2015 Jetta TDI so I think I am affected and would take advantage because NDP..

EDIT: I just read some other articles and it seems like you/we might be entitled to the $5000 and a buyback option. This is going to cost VAG a shitload of money.
I would think owning a '15 TDI would mean some compensation and getting your vehicle 'fixed'. Obviously I don't know, but I think the newer vehicles are the least likely to be bought back.

i know someone with a TDI Touareg they can't afford. A buyback would be a godsend for her
Sounds like the V6 owners are up shits creek though.

I don't think the Touareg has the 2.0 litre engine though, or has it been expanded again to all TDI engines?
No it doesn't. There was some kind of probe into the V6's but i think its small potatoes to the EPA due to the sheer difference in scale between number of 2.0's and the 3.0's in the US.
from Red's link
I have also personally been hoping to snag a cheapo TDI V6 touareg out of all this but no dice so far. I couldn't give a shit how many socks the car produces.Volkswagen Touareg 2013 3000 245 Automatic Euro 5 H

I doubt you'll be able to come close to VW's buyback prices. $5k + pre dieselgate used prices.
Any ideas what they're doing with the buybacks? Fixing them or crushing them?

Thanks she doesn't live here ( this province ) though. I am pretty sure she is just so hopelessly underwater on it that she can't sell it despite the 800 dollar a month payment she has...Originally posted by Redlyne_mr2

buyback hasn't been confirmed on specific models/years yet. VW publicly issued a very vague report to buy themselves more time, June 21st I believe is the deadline. The TDI Touaregs might not even be part of the buy back.Originally posted by rage2

If vw does decided to buy anything back I can see them sending them to Asian/india where emissions aren't a big deal.

Yeah, I haven't even had my tdi for a year and I've already been to the dealerships almost a dozen times. This emission problem is just another thing added to my list of never buying a vw again. Depending on buyback we will see what I do with the vehicle.

I've heard of reliable VW's but then again, I've also heard of white whales.....Originally posted by 403ep3
