Don't get your wife to learn manual, just make sure the nicer/faster car in the household is manual, and let her figure out if she cares about driving something more boring.

It's a VERY easy car to drive, just lease it and let her learn on it haha. It holds you in place on hills too so you don't roll back.

I'm all for more women learning to drive manuals, but I have to agree with this. If she really enjoys driving, go for it! If not... enjoy shelling out for a new clutch every 50,000kmsOriginally posted by ExtraSlow

Basically, the video just talks about how to deconstruct true TCO on a lease so you know what you're actually saving. The savings comes from *gasp* negotiating a better sale price and leasing on that sale price vs leasing @ MSRP.

Another update:
Looking for a vehicle to lease, ideal would be 36 to 39 months with $0 down.
I had a Ford F-150 prior, thinking perhaps to get the freshed model but also wanting to know if there is something else I can get.
Price point is about $700/monthly.
Would you guys with the same car mind checking something for me - is your l/100km history being displayed, or does it look like this with just the km's but not the mileage? I can't figure out how to get it to show me historical mileage:

The only thing I've noticed is some people's "Trip A" tab have a gas pump history graphic on it, mine does not, making me think it's a setting I'm missing. Hoping it's something silly like that - seems to be a common issue looking elsewhere.
I can't help you out, but wanted to comment that I love the info in this screen (especially if it had the l/100km) and this seems like such a simple thing every new car should have.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

Yeah I can't figure this one out just yet - looking online about half the people see it (the l/100km history), half don't - so hopefully it's just a setting, but the manual is vague in that area, suggesting it should just happen automatically. It's a great screen though, and I like how it shows the 3 previous trips compared to the current. You can even set it to automatically reset Trip A when you fill up with gas. If only the mileage history would show up...Originally posted by blownz

A lot of things it has I am shocked haven't been around for years and years on almost every car. Like head lights and even interior lights that automatically turn off with the vehicle, interior fans powering down when you get a phone call, automatic trip reset, and parking brakes that automatically engage/disengage. So many 'features' that are literally just a line of code in the vehicle's computer system that should have been around for ages.

Agreed, most are just simple programming changes like you said.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

Not quite as easy, but one feature I am surprised isn't used more are the capless fuel fillers. I think they are the greatest things ever.
Was looking at Motortrend this morning and found this interesting:
"We clocked a Civic Sedan with the continuously variable transmission at 6.8 seconds to 60 mph. This Hatchback Sport, despite its more fun six-speed manual and an extra six horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque, needed 7.5 seconds to do the same."
