Influence Salon gets my vote (specifically Bev). It's a bit spendy but you get a head massage, great scenery and I've never left there unhappy with my cut. Note: they give a referral bonus ($25) so PM me if you go (I'll split it with Woody as he mentioned the same place)

You guy's that pay money for buzzcuts are nuts..spend $25 on
a trimmer from walmart, get a mirror and go to town. Or get
your gf to do it..it's so easy!

^ Yeah man, after two haircuts its paid off, then just keep doing it yourself. those kits come with a number of clipper sizes so you can pick and choose whatever length you want.
At most invest another $5 at a dollar store and get a typical barber's mirror so you can see the back of your head to see what kind of job you've done there after.

Oh God, I'd hate to see your hair if you've been going to First Choice. Places like that, Ultracuts, Great Clips are places I've learned to avoid like the plague.
They get paid on the amount of hair cuts, more so then anything else. So their goal at those places is to push the numbers through as much as possible. I stopped going to First choice myself when I was 13, even at that age I looked like a complete twit with the haircuts I got there.
These franchised hair "salons" are always the same.

Damn, I went to Omar's since I was a little kid up until I went to university. Does his son still work there? I think his name was Hamze or something.

Since I've gotten older, I personally only like having scissor-work done on my hair, no buzzers. If a stylist can give you a good fade with just scissors and a comb, you know they're pretty good.

I've been there a few times. Do you get someone different every
time or insist on someone ?

Well unfortunately for some "stylists", it is rocket science.

That's why I made this thread - Cause a lot of stylists cant cut hair worth shit.

I believe that for some hairstyles, it's almost like an art.. like
how you can relate to an engine build. Crafting a masterpiece.

The job requires a lot of attention to detail and many seem
    to be lacking in it.

I went to one of those cheap places and the girl cutting my hair just came back from break and halfway through my cut I noticed she smelled like pot and I left looking like an idiot

I don't think there's any worse feeling than leaving a place with a bad haircut.
Not only did you waste your money, but you have to look like a douche for a good 2 weeks.

You can always ask for the same guy, I haven't had an issue with any of the regulars yet, but I do luck out and get the same guy for 6 months in a row.

It goes a long way to get a regular barber/stylist and tip them well. They respond well to your opinion and will know what to do next time.

I had the same lady for years because I would always call in and ask if she was working. Now that she finally left, I need a new place to invest in lol. Plus, my haircut is pretty simple(4 on top blended with 1 or 2 on sides, bangs a little longer, and yes I know, cliche). Anyone recommend a good barbershop in the dreadful NE?

Go see Julie at Hedkandi. She's my ex, and we didn't part on great terms, but she's great with hair
