Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a place to buy good beef ribs in bulk for a decent price. I love ribs but its so expensive to always eat out for them.

There is actually a khoja who does sell them and that's where my family buy theirs from...I can get the info if you like and PM it to you...
I still just hit up either Tiffin, Safari, or the Al-Cove for them...

Costco has beef ribs quite often. Talk to the butchers there.
you can buy the marinated uncooked ribs from tiffin
$35 gets you 5lbs. I believe.
They also give you the hot sauce they put them in after the ribs are cooked

I had to cancel our reservation at Thai Chili Club, but love ...love.. love tiffin ribs. Can you get them mild, medium, hot uncooked?
The ribs come marinaded mild and you get the sauce they use to make the ribs hotter (heat the sauce in a pan, cook the ribs, cut the ribs and add to sauce)...the more sauce you use the hotter it gets.Originally posted by Kritafo

I usually freeze a few pounds of ribs and freeze the sauce in ice cube trays so it lasts a while.
Perfect for BBQ'ing
Does anyone have a recipe for the tiffin style ribs?
Thanks
Pac
Lots on the Internet but i modified my recipe with apricot sauce instead of date.
I also quick sear on the bbq then put in a crock pot with the sauce to finish.
Be careful with the green chillis we used powder and wow to much heat.

What is that style of rib called? East African? I can't find anything that appears to be what they serve at Tiffin.Originally posted by cancer man

For cut ones, I like E-Mart on 17th right next to part source in the SW. Really nice marbling on their beef ribs.

Ingredients
Pork Spare Ribs – 500 gms
Green chillies – 3-5 (depending on how spicy you want them to be)
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Date sauce – 4 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce – 2 tsp
Vinegar – 1 tsp
Soya sauce – 4 tsp
Honey – 4 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Instructions
Grind together the green chillies, ginger garlic paste, 2 tbsp date sauce, 2 tsp soya sauce, 2 tsp honey, worcestershire sauce, vinegar and pepper powder to form a smooth sauce for the marinade.
Marinate the spare ribs overnight in the above sauce mixture.
Pressure cook the marinated ribs until the meat is almost falling off the bones. I cooked it on low heat for 20 minutes.
Let the meat rest in the cooker for 15 minutes.
In a bowl, mix together 2 tbsp date sauce, 2 tsp soya sauce and 2 tsp honey.
Take a pan and fry off the pressure cooked ribs in the above sauce mixture for a couple of minutes until caramelized.
Again i use apricot sauce and apricot brandy and finish on the bbq. Indian recipe.
