    Default Which layout?

    See the attached picture.
I thought the right one fits best, and it would eliminate glare on the TV if it backs to the window, but maybe the left layout works better?

With the left layout though, I need to leave about 1 foot off the window for vents? Would be nice to buy into one of those fireplace media consoles; don't think that would work in the right layout though.

    Thoughts? Thanks!

You wouldn't get any direct sunlight through north facing windows(Northern Hemisphere) so glare shouldn't be an issue there. I'd personally go with the left layout.

Where are the doors to the kitchen? Or is the TV room on a different floor? or is it open concept?

this is identical to our old place... we had the sectional against the window and also dividing the two zones... tv above the fireplace which was 45 degrees to the room in the corner by the stairs.

Left so your tv isn't blocking the window.

Left, so when your spouse comes down the stairs and you're watching porn, you can shut it off in time.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Good thing I don't have neighbours on that side of the house to peek in then!

I can't L with one back to the dining room because the room is only quite small and a 7x7 sectional would already fill a big chunk

If you have a TV in front of a window, you need a pickup on blocks sitting on your front lawn.

Do the left option, It will be bettter for watching tv/movies during daylight or early evenings. Also, you can wire your tv and electronics better to hide cables and whatever else.

I would have suggested putting the sectional back against the dining room wall but I can see why it wont work with the openings.

The only thing I would suggest is that you want to try to keep the TV at eye level for less neck strain just my opinion though. Depends how much TV/gaming you do.

Right... less glare. I always put my TV back to the window. Then again I'm a rebel and care more about my own comfort than what people think when they come over
