I never thought Hennessey would actually pull through with this

Pretty crazy performance. My favorite part is the choice of gear box

I had a chance to see the coupe iteration at Pebble Beach a few years back, and man is it ever a cool car in person.

I read the price tag is around $1.3 million USD, which isn't too bad and sounds on par with other hyper cars.

    1. It's a lotus with not even close to $200k worth of modifications
    2. To actually be a world record they need to run back to back within 60min... They only ran once
    3. They apparently didn't have a 3rd party confirm the speed
    4. Word is these things are still registered as lotus
    5. Apparently they are not selling at all (isn't there a minimum to be considered "production")
    6. Fuck these assholes and the bullshit they have pulled since day one

Ya, i think they produced 29 coupes and i am not sure if they ever sold out. In order to be considered a "production vehicle" 50 have to be produced, so no, this is not a production vehicle. Also, to officially break speed records the high speed run must be run in both directions with the mean of the two runs used as the highest acheived speed.
