Default Bug stain removal on 3m film

Hey, I was wondering if any of you knew how to take a bug blood stain thats on my 3m film on my front bumper. Ive washed it a couple times now and I dont seem to have any luck taking it out. Usually when its on the paint itself I am able to get it out with a little Scratch X but that doesnt seem to be working for the stain on the 3m film itself

    Any suggestions?

I've had the 3M film on my white car for 4 years and have not had any problems removing bug stains. Occasionally I just have to use one of my drying cloths (wet of course) to rub it out while spraying high pressure soap at the same time. Has always worked for me so far.

Try a decent degreaser like simple green, with a terry cloth...should come right off.

If it's colour that's soaked into the film, I believe clay bar can help pull that out.

I have the same problem on my new car too, I tried using claybar but didn't work. Anyone have any other ideas?

I haven't tried it on my 3M film, but I was thinking that putting a wet towel with soap (or degreaser) and just leave it to soak in may help. I know that the 3M stuff is slightly porous. Trimline told me to wax it, so that may be the preventative step.

3M should be waxed at least every 4-6 months, along with your car. As for the blood stain, try degreaser or nail polish remover. Just make sure if you use nail polish remover, try it on a small spot first making sure it doesn't haze or fade the 3M. If it's ok, try it on the blood stain.

Hey, BTW, I notice you own a IS250. Have you checked the Canada forum over at http://my.is/ ?? So far there is only a couple of us over on that forum, you should join, I try and get more 2IS to come out for meets but I haven't had any luck.

degreaser should work. And like ^^ said, wax/light polish the 3m once every few months.
