Hey I'm hosting a game at my place after work today and I just realized that I don't have chips
Are there any places in the downtown core that sells them?

Try the Bay/Sears? I'm sure they have some sets there.
Or just walk around TD looking for them?
There wouldn't be a place that sells nicer chips, eh?
Like the ones that are between $0.50-$1 per chip?
Is that in TD? Like Circuit City source?
Its not downtown but its the only place I think in town you'll find chips different from the regular stuff at the bay/walmart.
http://straightflush.ca/ And if you call the guy I think he will deliver it to you at work (he used to a couple years ago)
Or just go to teh casino and buy $1000 in chips and hope nobody steals them so you can return them later.
Holy ripoff artists...LOL.Originally posted by szw

Those aren't clay.
They are resin (essentially plastic) with a metal weight in the middle of them.
Ummm no, I have a clay set, not plastic thank you.Originally posted by sputnik

Which US manufacturer did you go through? Do you have any pics!? I am saving up for a set of ASM's...only shitty part I was quoted $1.40 per chip! Still trying to save... haha
Which brand?Originally posted by 89coupe

All of the clay chips I have seen START at $1/chip.
I have never seen a clay set for under $200.
the lowest I have found was around $225 or so, but that was for Blue Chip clays and only a 300pc set....oh, plus an insane amount of shipping which soured the deal.Originally posted by sputnik

i think the poster is just confused...perhaps he/she thinks all chips are the same. News flash!...there are cheap immitation clays that EVERYONE sells and calls them CLAY...then there is the real thing $1+ per chip - Paulson, ASM, BC and TRK King (recently shut doors). I believe those are the only companies that produce compression molded clays.
also, just because your chips don't have metal inserts in them, that has nothing to do with them being clay.
ok, maybe I am crazy but who gives a shit if they are clay, or if they are plastic with metal inserts? do they help you win a hand of poker? I just don't see the point in spending that much money for 'clay' chips when the cheap knock off ones work fine.
Then again I only play poker 4 or 5 times a year...
They are similar to this.Originally posted by sputnik

There's a big difference between clay and clay composite.
If it's less than $0.80/chip, then it's definately not clay.

Yeah it's the old radio shacks. I remeber picking up a 200 chip set at one of them for like 20 bucks. I don't think they are the clay ones though. They had clay ones but I didn't need anything that expensive. They look like this
Whatever, there is clay in them, fuck who cares...LOL.Originally posted by Super_Geo

Oh, definently not clay....especially at 13.5grams! lolOriginally posted by 89coupe

For the guys who say it doesnt matter, think of this example:
Instead of buying a nice $500 car stereo from Alpine why dont you buy the $50 no name one at Canadian Tire? They are both radios? They both play music? Some people get the expensive radios and feel good, others get the dirt cheap shit and live just fine. "I just don't see the point in spending that much money for a 'nice' radio when the cheap knock off ones work fine."
What a gay comparison...LOL.
My chips stack perfectly, have a nice weight to them, and make that oh so nice clickity click sound...LOL
This place seems to have great deals.
