You need a tri pod. Your lens can do they water effect no problem.

Just set up your camera with a try pod and try using differnce shutter speeds to get the effect you want. Looks like in the second picture they used alot of exposure with many lights passing.

Read this. It will help you out alot.

Its all about trial and error. Just play with your camera tons. But to do pictures like that, or night shots etc you need a tri pod.

Dont use your flash either, just natural lighting

I don't know what that second one is exactly, but it looks like something done at a slow shutter speed. I'm sure you could do the same thing or similar with your kit or just about any camera.

For the water stuff, you can do that with pretty much any camera. You just need to slow the shutter down enough to let the water blur itself. If the lowest ISO setting and a reasonably high aperature (11-16 maybe) won't do it, you may need to add a polarizing filter or a ND filter to cut some of the light out. Usually somewhere in the range of 1.5+ seconds will blur a stream like that if its moving at a decent speed, but the best way of course is to just take a few pictures and see if your getting the results you like with whatever settings your using. It's also best if it isn't windy, because then the leaves/branches will be sharp too even after the longer shutter speed. If you can't avoid that though, you can take 2 shots - one to blur the water, one to make the trees/leaves sharp and then combine them later in photoshop.

Slow shutter speeds allow more light in, to have a crisp and sharp picture you want it to quickly get the light and close up
because if its still open people objects or in your case water iwll move and it will seem very blurry

for those water pictures, what you need to do is set a low shutter speed so it opens for a long time, that way the water that is moving will seem blurry but since the other parts arent moving they will stay nice and sharp

you can do this with stars too, set it up at night
set slow shutter speed and you can see the stars move in a cool fashion

that other pic i think was one of those types they do with lights?
you set slow shutter speed and start moving lights around? donno

correct me if im wrong anyone, im not a pro, just helping out

3rd one looks ike a lng exposure of traffic and lights that hasnt been stabilized at all, probably someone who left the shutter on while driving with the camera placed on the front dash or something.
