4 House Pot Bust

Another pot bust, big deal.

Just curious if anyone knows where exactly the properties in Somerset and Chaparral are? I can't find an address for either.

City beat is only listing the block it's on, however that should narrow it down a bit (they'll probably show up on Calgary Health Region's environmental health site in a few weeks):

- 0-100 block of Chaparral Ridge Link S.E.
- 100 block of McKenna Way S.E.
- 200 block of Shannon Hill S.W.
- 100 block of Somerset Drive S.W.

Anybody ever watched a pot bust? There was one down the street from me in Sundance and you could smell it in the car from the opposite end of the street. We decided to park the car and walk over and the DEA (Or whatever they are here) were just tossing garbage bag upon garbage bag out onto the driveway. They'd take equipment out the front door and smash it on the front steps. It was pretty entertaining.

Of course the only thing running through my mind, and those of the dozens of teens around me, was "I wonder who's faster... A young male with a couple garbage bags of weed or a guy in a haz-mat suit?".

Although I didn't witness the take-down, I know of a house ,a couple of doors down from a friend, in Kincora that was a grow op... it was also directly next to a CPS's house Guess the geniuses didn't do they're homework before setting up shop there.

A bit off topic, but would your friend live ~ 3 houses down in the cul de sac, drive a ridgeline and has a baby on the way?

There was another grow up busted in Kincora late last year on the drive as well.

Does anyone have an idea of what kind of resources are being used to track down grow ops?? I know in GTA and Vancouver areas their helicopters are regularly flying around at night to see which houses are a little bit warmer than others....does CPS currently use hardcore tactics like this???

They devote quite a bit of resources, the do the steak out thing, under covers, and I have on good advice that the FLIR system on the HAWC is used for that same thing.

One easy way to tell is if there's snow on the neighboring houses roofs, and none on one.
