    Default Plasti dipping tail-lights

Is it a good idea? I was thinking of just doing 1-2 coats and put some glossifier on as I don't want something permanent and so the person behind me is actually able to see my lights. Would plasti dip look good on tail lights or too cheap? Would lamin-x or tint film look better?

    Thanks.

    Its easier to do tint.

I'd go with the classic - VHT Nightshades.

-wetsand with a high grit, wash & dry.

-Shake up the vht and mist 2-3 light coats.

    -Couple coats of clear coat.

-let it dry and then buff it with some rubbing compound
    & wax.

I did this on my Z28 tails and I've never had an issue with
someone not seeing my brake lights/turn signals..no honks
or getting pulled over. Key things are: don't rush prep. Don't
    go too dark.

    Thanks.

Nothing wrong with the VHT's just don't want something permanent. But I'll look into the plasti dip smoke if not I'll just go with a film. Yeah not going to do it too dark maybe just a light-dark so the lights/signals are still visible.

I don't see how you could get a light-dark out of plasti dip on lights..
it's the wrong product for the application imo.

I'd put a vote towards using film, it can get done for around the $100 range.

I've done tons in vht and for the amount of time it takes to do properly it's not worth the saving. Also, if you fuck up VHT then you're super fucked cause you have to redo all your steps again.

I didn't find VHT difficult/time consuming at all.. And I got zero runs, drips etc. It turned out damn near perfect the first time I've ever done it.

As long as you prep the surface properly and don't go
crazy with the coats it's pretty difficult to screw it up.
