I think what's really annoying about stories like this is that a bunch of guys come on saying how the "victim" must have enjoyed it, blah blah, etc. etc. Yet, were the genders reversed and the teacher a man, it'd be all "BURN HIM AT THE STAKE / GRRR IM STEAMING MAD / etc."

Yeah, funny that you brought that up. I had that
exact convo with the gf. She disagreed and said
either way it's wrong.

I argued that may be, but that a larger percentage
of people would find the reverse of this situation to
be much more controversial.

I'm going to take the risk of getting flamed here, but I wouldn't really be that offended. A couple years younger I'd feel diffrent, but a 16 year old girl sleeping with a grown man isn't really that morally indefensible.

Would it be inappropriate? Yes. Just as professionally inappropriate as a professor in a University sleeping with a student only a few years older.

I only remember having one fuckable teacher throughout grade school. She was our computer instructor in grade 6 and she would always press her tits on the back of your head when you had a question. I agree with the hypocrisy, if it was genders reversed, the male teacher is immediately called a rapist and sex offender, where as the female teacher gets leeway in the form of "maybe her marriage is rocky, or perhaps she herself was abused as a child". Not always typical, but it occurs regularly enough, the double standard that still creeps into women's rights.

I think that the abuses regarding teacher/student interactions were probably just as frequent when us older guys were in grade/high school, it's just that the world is a much more connected, and as a result, informed place, so we here about news like this in a flash, because it's scandalous and a "great" story for some crime reporter lashed to his/her desk.

Yah, but I see the hypocrisy in a different way myself, why is it so hard for people to imagine that a teenage girl, just like a teenage boy, or an adult women just like an adult man are both able to make sexual decisions, rationally and consciously?

Why are young women all treated like delicate flowers that need to be protected, you know women just like men are totally capable of making morally questionable decisions free of the coercion of a male.

All you just managed to say that all sex is predatory in nature, sure in a way. Why does age suddenly change it then?
