    Power hasn't been officially given yet, but it's estimated at 640hp/640ft-lbs. With a 6 speed manual or 10 speed automatic. 200lbs lighter than the previous ZL1, so about 3800-3900 pounds I think.

    That's a monster. I'll bet there's not going to be a performance difference between this and the Z06.

    10 sec 1/4's with the 10 speed? I'd bet pretty darn close.

    I wish the rear of the car wasn't so generic but otherwise it's hard to find much to argue about with the latest Camaro as it's solid performance/dollar in all trims.

    This...the new Z/28 should absolutely crush the competition if this is the new ZL1.

    Its runs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 cranking out an estimated 640 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. Codenamed LT4, you know this engine from the Corvette Z06. That power allows the 2017 ZL1 to outgun the '15 model by 60 hp and 84 lb-ft. "This is the hammer in the Camaro lineup for Gen Six," Reuss said. It will go on sale late this year.

    All of that power will be hooked to GM's first use of its long-awaited 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, which is tuned for the prodigious output of the ZL1. More significantly, the gearbox will be in eight vehicles by the end of 2018. Enthusiasts, rest assured: the ZL1 will also offer a standard six-speed manual transmission with rev matching.

    The powertrain is the attention-getter, but the chassis is also tuned for performance. It has a Magnetic Ride suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, and performance traction management. It rolls on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires with a special compound developed for this car. Stopping comes from six-piston Brembos with two-piece rotors.

    The exterior design is all about aerodynamics, and a larger lower grille provides more airflow than the one on the SS. There's also Chevy's "flow-tie" badge, which is simply a cutout of the iconic Bow Tie to let more air pass through. Chevy also added a new hood with a carbon-fiber insert, a larger front splitter, and a wing in back. Wider fenders and unique rocker panels punctuate the look. The cabin has Recaro seats, a suede flat-bottom steering wheel, and an optional Performance Data Recorder. Other nifty features include 11 heat exchangers to cool the powertrain, a drive-mode selector, and dual-mode exhaust.
    It's 10% better than a Bugatti! :freakout:

    No word yet on curb weight other than claims that it'll be 200 lbs lighter than the previous gen (that'd put it at 3900 lbs, or roughly ~150 lbs heavier than a loaded '16 SS), and I don't see any wizard tires in the press release photos.

    Push the Mode button up till it selects Sport or Track mode for loud super excitey explodey sound.

    Goddamnnnn. Even the V6 Camaro has a loud exhaust mode. ATS-V, CTS-V, Z06, Chevy SS, Camaro SS, all the other C7 Vettes.

    You won't get that in your Mustang or any Ford, except the Focus RS/GT350 and then higher up (Ford GT). The Ecoboostang will sure pump induction sound in the cabin for you though!

    GM is doing it right with exhaust notes..especially with all the fake sounding vehicles that are currently out.

    Can personally vouch that even the new Camaro SS with the active exhaust sounds amazing.

    Took one for a test drive downtown on Bow heading westbound, hit about 70% throttle when I though I was a safe distance from the dealership (way past the bridge)
    When I came back from the test drive people standing outside smoking told me they could hear me the whole way.

    Couldn't believe they could get away with such a loud exhaust on a factory car.

    You can put it in stealth/normal mode and it goes back to quiet. The V6 (RS) models also have a loud mode which is cool.

    The GT350 is even more loud when put to sport mode, but only because it sounds the most godly IMO.

    Hellcat is loud, Z06 is loud...unbelievable how loud all these cars are from the factory but to be fair they all have active exhausts.

    Heard all of these cars today, had the entire trifecta come in one load (yeah boiii) Z06 x5, C7 z51, Camaro SS x3, GT350 x5, 1 Hellcat Chally, couple 392 R/T Chargers. My earballs are still ringing, cold start up on all of them is a loud CRACK. BRB tinnitus...
