The only way to make it less reliable would be to mix in some old Alfa parts. Perhaps an 80s era VW electrical system.

The benefit of the V12 would be enjoying it while it ran but when it died/issues popped up, it’d be an easy swap to a V8. I don’t think that’ll happen with the I6…they’re supposed to be pretty reliable.

V12s are nice in theory but the I6 is the right call if you want to actually drive the thing regularly. It's a classy old Jag, you're not racing anybody.
