Hilariously, I went looking for cul-de-sacs in Aspen and found the exact location of the posted photo on my first street-view click.

I would hate to live in a culdesac. Zero parking for guests.

Good thing about front garage communities, almost no one parks on the street.
You park on the driveway and then whatever street parking you find outside of the culdesac.

Yes a bit of further walking for the guests but works mostly fine unless you are holding an Indian wedding.

If you are in the top of the sac (the shaft is business as usual) you just park perpendicular, cause fuck the law. I can get 6 cars comfortably in front of my house using the street, driveway, and the area in front of the driveway. No disruption to neighbours’ “area” at all

Technically, I think you're in the "bum" of the sac...

The real wealthy celebrate at a restaurant. Like in Riverbend. Lots of seating and great table service.

City officials said nearly 70 per cent of the people who spoke were against blanket rezoning.

Man, they wasted 798 ppl's time...

Also: a bunch of cars parked on a street is way fucking uglier than front garages. If you're driving through one of the "desirable urban communities" in Calgary, you don't realize what a fucking eyesore 50 cars in a row parked at the curb actually is.
100% agree. Most streets where cars are parked on both sides also barely have enough room for two vehicles to pass each other in opposing directions. Front driveways for the win.

For the councilors who voted yes to this, I hope someone buys their neighboring homes and builds 4 plexes on both sides of them.

Easier to get shallackered when you're hosting. You don't need to drive anywhere.

so the biggest issue for blanket rezoning is parking concerns?

Dude, are people really that concerned over parking half a block further than normal? Beggars with choosers mentality lol

The beggars are the ones demanding higher density housing in neighborhoods that are decades established, ignorantly thinking housing prices will magically go down.

Or more accurately, the beggars are the 9 councillors who are begging Trudeau for millions in cash.
