No different than buying a car as an investment

More efficient than a bedroom full of PS5s I guess.
Thought you might get a laugh at this. It's an old photo but a funny one.

People consider the weirdest things to be assets
I'm with you, the watch is not an asset or investment. The number of youtube companies/channels pushing the watches as though they are is off the charts.

That’s because their store needs regular revenue. Look at Luxury Bazaar or even that Teddy Baldessare guy. He now has a brick and mortar shop in Cleveland

I cant stand the youtube shorts of the same guys flipping their watches for an extra $700 or $1000 between dealers in New York...

Then theres the guy who ripped everyone off for 5 million not that long ago... Anthony? His youtube channel playing it up for the cameras on how good of an investment they are just to rip everyone off.

Not sure a watch collection is much use if the world goes to shit.

Got called on a Rolex 136660 - the sea dweller on oyster. Not my fav. but not the worse and I love that it is 44 mm but that's about the only thing I love about it. Kinda torn if should get it anyway, I know it deff won't go anywhere over retail and likely lose a couple k off the 18,100 msrp, but kinda think I would enjoy wearing it. Anyone on here rocking those, how you liking it?

I wanted a sea dweller for a while. Way cooler than a sub.

Want it at MSRP? I am leaning towards getting it but there's a slight chance I might not love it so if you're in it would just make me a little more confident getting it knowing I won't lose any $.

I love my sea dweller.... they called me on the 6th to sell me another one. Wasn't sure why tho. That's 2 calls recently on one's I own or one I didn't ask for.

A buddy was thinking of selling his omega sea master diver 300, 2 tone rose gold if anyone likes that style. Looks sharp with the black strap.

It is actually the deepsea sea dweller that's available to me. Those are 44 mm. I realize here's also just a sea dweller which is 43 and has a slightly lower msrp by 1k'ish.

Do I want an allocation for a new watch at MSRP? Or are you trying to sell me a used watch (that you just said would be worth 2k less than MSRP) at MSRP?

Either way, thanks, but no thanks. I almost always wear my Apple watch now and am saving my discretionary pennies to buy an old Porsche.

The DSSD, now simply billed as the Deepsea, doesn’t wear quite as large as the numbers on paper would suggest. Also, as is often the case, wearing it on a bracelet sized appropriately for one’s wrist makes the experience rather pleasant.

For reference, I have a relatively flat 7” wrist.

Haha, it was more so, pass on the allocation to you. Or, if you were good with it, I get it and if I don't like it just pass it on to you in brand new condition. Haha.

But anyway, I decided to get it as long as I like it on my wrist. I have never tried it on in person before and based on what statick is saying if it doesn't sit well and big on my wrist, I might not even end up liking it that much. We will see.

The DS is still nice, even it is not the trendy 37-39mm dressy watch, swap to Rubber to make it lighter, fit pretty well with 17.5-19cm wrist.

And since resell value on DS is no where near some other Rolex, can wear it as how a Rolex should be, don't need to worry too much about scratches or dents.

Depends if it is the Blue or Black, even black one, can still keep 75%+ on resell, which is pretty damn good, imagine you spend $20K on a really nice watch, such as Breguet or Girard ... *_*
