I have to think that with the brand new, higher end vehicles Shak has become accustomed to driving that he's not going to enjoy something ~15-20yo with radically lower acceleration and zero tech.
It might be worth considering something super old, but modified and restored like a VW Corrado. I'm thinking something older because it will give you that butt-dyno feeling of peppy and fast when it's just not.
This will be the update 2-5 weeks after the purchase is made.

Everything will feel slow to you Shak. Don't do it. Fuck, most of the cars being thrown around have cassette players, do you know what a cassette tape even is? Apple car play, WTF is that! And if you want something reliable but you're likely into shitbox range with a $15k budget.

Just go fly to Vegas and bag on a super car at the track. Or give it to a therapist.

Edit: I was gonna suggest an S2k. High revving, fun, amazing gearbox, wont break. And they don't go down in value. Do it. Ball up and drop $30k-$40k.

But no wrapz or rimz please.

Diff failure on the highway (semi common), rear wheel bearing failure (very common) on both sides twice, broken OEM seat back latches (super common). Cooling system was woefully undercooled, even after two oil cooler setups and a double capacity rad it was just barely holding it together on track, still was seeing 110°C water and 130-140°C oil temps. Diff and trans temps were reaching 130°C on track in 15 mins sessions, powersteering would overheat at auto x and blow all the fluid out because the OEM pulley was the wrong size for tons of heavy steering inputs at high engine RPM. With aftermarket brake ducts I would get 2 days out of a set of track pads at Castrol, which is unbelievably poor wear.
    Holy. Fuck.
My friend has a Corvette from the 80's on propane that has been tracked for over 25 years with zero of those issues. That sounds terrible!

S2000 is the way. Major regret selling mine at the bottom of the market.

S2000, ISF or 997 is all on my list for the next purchase.

No, it's a guy in BC. I think it's an '84 (like the shittiest year ever?) but severely mod'd to somewhere near 600hp.

I made money on my S2k, but still disappointed I sold. '01 with clean carfax, almost all stock, ~90k km sold for like $21k in early covid times haha. Fck me.

997 is also on my list. ISF is one that I really liked, but I don't really feel the need to buy again.

Well if it makes you feel better, I sold my 01 with 136k for $11750 in 2015.

Been seeing prices on AMG gt soften a fair bit with lots of inventory.

    Very tempting

Haha good. I need people to talk me out of this stupidity in general. Better saving the $ and putting towards the business at the moment. That's what a logical person would do, but then there's me. Always fighting the internal fight and keep telling myself to hold off for 2 years and when the business is solid reward myself with a proper exotic. Just 2 fucking years.

Buy an 8th gen civic and just bag on it.

8200rpm, one of the best manual shifters ever.

    Zero worries.

If it was me, it would be a 4-door. If you can find a CSX type S, do that.

What if you sold one of your other cars? Then your budget would go way way up. You know this is the right answer.

Maybe instead of retail therapy you need $15k worth of actual therapy bud.

Lol you stopped buying cars and moved on to watches.
IMO you are not saving $ and putting it towards business. - You are still spending.
I am glad that I am poor.

You should actually sell a watch or two. Re-allocate a bit of it to the fun car, re-allocate a bit of it to the business.

    All solid advice.

Just gotta remind myself, mind over matter. Haha. The next ‘real’ car I buy by getting rid of either of mine, it’ll have to be an exotic or I don’t want to do it. That’s my goal and 2 years is the target.

Tho I do want a bike bad especially either the new Harley sportster s or a bmw r nine T.
