It's just insanity how shocked their media and their millions of fans are when their top-quartile hockey team fails to win 16 straight shutout playoff games every year.

While i am not sure everyone from "A" would beat the "B" teams, i think going back to 1 vs 8 seeding is long overdue. The pooled experiment to try to grow rivalries has failed and just results in mostly the same boring match-ups and tends to punish certain teams for their success.

I don't mind it for the first round but I think re-seeding the 2nd round might make more sense as right now you have Nashville and Vegas both playing in the wrong division because of the wild card. Feels like if you want to build better rivalries you'd want them to have a chance to cross back to their division before the conference finals.

I know the travel would end up being terrible for certain teams, but I would love to see a non east+west divisions and just go 1-16 one year. 1vs16, 2vs15 etc etc
You would probably miss out on some regional matchups, travel would be horrible for some, but man it would be cool to see. You could have a battle of Alberta as the Cup final for example.
