LOL Walmart has launched a national recycling program for its reusable bags:

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/reu...ery%20delivery.

    https://www.walmartcanada.ca/news/20...ada-to-launch-

So we're going to go down the same path but rather than this being a province level problem like it is in Cali, its a country wide problem

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I had no idea that Cali banned plastic bags, everywhere I went they were still giving them out.

Plastic straws, plastic bags, styrofoam containers, no recycling anywhere, not even for cans.

I've never seen recycling in California or Arizona.
In fact most places I've stayed in Arizona tells Canadians to put everything into the garbage bin.

Recycling, in general, is a sham. It shouldn't be, but is.

You can’t expect us to just bury all our garbage all random like. You need to create an entire industry to sort and organize it all neatly first before just burying it all in the landfill. (or ship it across the world for better optics)

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it looks like these morans actually did something good for a change, and reversed their original very poor decision.

Couns. Courtney Walcott, Gian Carlo Carra, and Kourtney Penner were the dissenting votes.
Well, at least the 3 idiots are not from my ward.

Of course Walcott was still trying to be righteous about it - the guy is such a fucking blowhard.

Cereal comes packaged in a bag within a box - both essentially single use.

I nearly lost my shit the other day.
I ordered a burger for takeout, expressed it was for takeout.
I stand there waiting for my burger to which they then place on a tray.
I once again express it's takeout and I need a bag to which the lady looked me dead ass in the eyes and said "that's 15 cents".
I expressed I did not have change on me and she proceeded to grab the POS terminal so I could pay 15 cents on debit.
    Stunned.

Had similar experience with Starbucks in Korea.

Order takeout and they gave me plastic cup. Then it started to rain a bit so I decided to sit down and wait it out.

Then barista came over and said if I'm staying I can't use the disposable plastic cup. I said ok and they proceed to pour it into a glass. Then dumped the cup.

End goal is the the same except you now have to wash an extra glass. And I thought only we are raising our kids weird.

I agree, the whole thing is fucking stupid. It's even more stupid knowing my councillor voting for it not once, but twice.

But the clerk is just following marching orders.

This was at Crossiron (Rocky view county), and it was the owner of the burger place.

The restaurants get fines if they are busted not following the bylaw so I get why they were doing it, but that said it should not happen now.

Edit - Notice you said RockyView... That is pure bullshit then.

Just grab the whole tray and go? You can either single use the tray, and junk it afterwards. Or be environmentally friendly and take it down the sledding hill next winter season (so in like a week).
