Why dealer even if under warranty? Literally no reason if there's an independent shop you trust.

Some people like factory service records maybe
In the end turnover at these dealers are high and your experience will vary simply based on whoever you’re dealing with at that time.
Anyway dealer records or Indy shops, good work is good work and as long as you got the service done I don’t think it really matters
Also what’s 1500 in damages entail? I assume they fixed it
But for sure it’s nice to know someone in the inside, at the very least it comes with some good feels

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
I assume 1500 in damages is basically a 2 stage cut/polish to get rid of swirls.
For Windshield, camera calibration could be locked to factory tools only. I remember I gave my VIN to GlassMaster and they said they couldn't do it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Haven't had service yet, and frankly the Country Hills dealership is massive so you know they got billz to pay. But they've treated me really well and I wouldn't have an issue going there. Although I'm probably going to consider an indy closer by my office.

Yes it was fixed, but not a fun experience to get it resolved. bjstare is right, but I also had a Graphene re-application on top. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
OK a little frustrated at CHMB. Haha. Sales bro was good but service is a bit of a pain. One key stopped working and they didn't really look at it and just said 'oh it must be broken if it is like this - here's a $600 bill'.
Also Mercedes windshields are.... ridiculous. Quote was $2,300.
Taking over the thread a bit. Couple questions:
- Anyone use an indy they like?
- Anyone use aftermarket glass? I found someone who can get Fuyao which I believe is BMW OEM so I'd expect good things. Is less than 25% of the cost.

Continental is kind of the final word for off warranty mercedes work, IMO. They were fantastic when I took my R129 there for a few random things.

People recommend Alpine as well, but I did not have a good experience there. They mis-quoted based on not understanding how to do a job (by a large % of hours), didn't reset the systems in the car properly after doing it, so my transmission wouldn't shift out of 2nd when I picked up the car (which should've been caught on a test drive before they even told me to come pick it up), then made me leave the car with them for 2 days and drive across the city an extra time just to remediate the 2 min fix that was required.
Thanks, actually I think I can see them from my window at my office. HahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yup that looks like it that's pretty convenient.
