Default Initial D at the cove

Is it me, or is it the biggest rip off ever. But you know what, its highly addictive! I think I blew like $35 on that game today! $2 to start the game, $2 to buy the card, $1 for every race afterwards no matter if you win or lose! Holy SHIT!!! The worse thing is the line up, people put down like $20, so you have to wait for 20 plays. I bet the cove will break even after 3 days. That machine must cost like $4000 at max. Theres enough asian kids that will blow there money away on this game, me included. Sorry guys, its like drugs, too addictive!

    Who: Asian kids
    What: Initial D Driving game
Why: because it's addictive like a drug
When: I'm not familiar with the hours
Where: U of C Campus, MacEwan Student Centre, Campus Cove, I think they are in the basement (??) now, the Den took over the old location.

I'll have to check it out sometime....

Hehehe, there is a brand new machine about 20 minute walk from where I live that no one ever plays on. $0.80 to play ($1 buys 5 tokens). I've only played 2 games, but it seems like a pretty good game.

Just wondering, it asks me if I want a card or not... Does the card come out of the machine?

My friends and I always play Golden Tee at the bars/pubs. Its only $5 for 18 holes though...A few of them play in the tournaments and make $$$. One of my friends was so "addicted" to the game he ordered a Golden Tee machine from Southern Music (or whatever they are called) it costed him just over $8K and he's not even connected to the Golden Tee network.

I think it costs more than that. It costs around that if it were a single machine, but its a twin one (there's 2 that can play), and for the not as popular ones that are twin, they cost around $8k-$12k.

Gavin, I know your hooked like a monkey, I was too! Dont worry. Ok, well seeing that the machine cost 12k, ok insted of 3 days to break even, it'll take a week and a bit, then its pure profit after that. My I should open up my own arcade place at the U and give the cove a run for its money! I'd be rolling in so much bling. I think the guy that owns the arcade owns Subway too. Dude, check out the line at Subway everyday, that guy must be rollin' in sooooo much dough!!! Feeding off of poor university kids! How low can he get, haha!

You should grab their loonies and toss em aside if they play more than 2 - 3 games. Who cares if it costs more to restart, if theres people waiting, get the hell off the game so others can play or just let other ppl continue your game.

I think I saw that game in Richmond at Rush arcade, there wasn't a line up to play there haha.

You guys are way off. Most arcades lease/rent those machines, profit sharing between arcades and the machine owner. I wanted a F355 challenge for my house, and it would've been wiser to buy a real F355 .

For a tri-screen cabinet, the price was around $25k US when it was new. Might be a bit cheaper now...
