Tristan Queyras was an outstanding and extraordinary guy. I have not known him that long but I loved him and will miss him very much. That evo drawing was for him...
I called RCMP and from what they told me, he managed to make it out of his car before passing away in the water - where his body was found by a bystander who tried to preform CRP on him to revive him while rescue crew came. He was air lifted to Foothills in critical condition where he under went surgery but did not make it. The car appeared to have reared off the road just before the bridge where there was a sudden turn - not sure if avoiding or what. The creek was a very shallow creek (knee deep) so it is unsure why he wasn't able to make it out and was found in the water. In regards to him being in his underwear, the officer said that he did have regular clothes on (jeans, shirt, etc) but that the pants were hanging loose on him which is common with people struggling to get out (of water) of a wreck - so I'm sure that might have gotten misconstrued by the media.
I was pretty close with him along with some of his close friends; we're all very choked. I will be following up with RCMP to try and gather more information and heading to the scene myself tomorrow. We're all trying to piece together what happen because this was very very sudden and random - we're all in shock that something like this could happen to an amazing person.
