That’s what I was told to. Then I got the email confirming 4 weeks. Called Rogers and confirmed they are in back order.

how long ago did you placed your order? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks for the hookup! Rep point added
Placed order 12/23
got email on 12/24 saying phone is in back order and they are expecting to receive more devices in 4+ weeks. I could call to change my phone so I called and asked about 12PM, but that was same timeline about 4 weeks (would have bit the bullet if sooner). then on 1/13 got email from rogers indicating active account, and shipping email came shortly later.
one thing - i do not have 5g with rogers, but i called in and they will look into it. hopefully i get 5g coverage haha

My phone picks up 5G every now and then whenever it's available depending on the location etc.
Shit, just noticed i'm not getting 5G either, just LTE. I rarely leave the house so didn't even notice. Gonna call in as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Stupid question. How do you give Reps? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Well fuck. Spoke to someone on the technical team and he told me that this winback plan is not eligible for 5G - only their infinite unlimited plans are. I explained that wasn't mentioned at all when signing up, so he's going to escalate my case to the president's office and see what they can do but at this point looks like LTE only.

How much 5G coverage is in Calgary / Canada at this point? Just DT?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think it's still a good deal. Might regret it down the road if your phone is 5G capable, but can re-evaluate in 2 years. Not a huge dealbreaker, but I feel like the winback team is a bit frazzled and don't tell you much unless you ask.
I am with Telus and NW Calgary I have 5G coverage. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The good news is at least roam like home ($8 per day to roam in the US) is included on these plans. Never even crossed my mind since i haven't thought of travel in ages, but if you text 'travel' to 222 you can confirm it has it.
Noticeably better than LTE?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ya, i made sure to ask about that when i signed up... Such a great feature to not have to worry about buying minutes, etc. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit: Wow, that 5G coverage is much better than i expected to see. Did they mention any cost associated with getting 5G or is it simply not available at all for the winback? Hopefully there is some positive news when they get back to you.
No he didn't mention anything about an add on, he said i would have to switch to an infinite plan to get it which obviously isn't nearly as cheap. Hopefully they can do something from the president's office but not holding my breath. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm kinda pissed now, but at the end of the day i'm personally saving $55 a month compared to my old plan at telus so i probably would've done it even if it was clearly mentioned. LTE is 70-90 Mbps which is obviously really fast anyways but still annoyed here.
I swear I have seen 5G appear on my phone every now and then. Though right now I see LTE. lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also, could you PM me the guy's email address again please? He gave me an email in case my family members wanted to jump on the plan and apparently I wrote it wrong as it's bouncing back.
Thanks
Apple phones I think only connects to 5G when it needs it. It stays mostly on LTE to conserve battery power. That's what I remember from the presentation. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Go run Speedtest or download a large file somewhere and it should switch to 5G. It'll eat up a bunch of data tho, heard Speedtest is blowing through people's plans like crazy.

I just called to talk to someone about 5G and they finally said the same you mentioned. All the other agents I spoke to said there would be 5G. I just saw my credits show up and didn't want to escalate it yet until I've used them up. Let us know if the escalation worked and then I'll call in again in the future. Still disappointed there isn't 5G, but honestly not the end of the world as it is still pretty quick and I don't know if I'll notice the difference.

I have actually been using the Note 20 Ultra over the past couple of weeks and quite surprisingly enjoying it. Thought I would be back to Apple within a week, but I have found usage for the S-Pen in day to day work activities etc. that I am thinking this might be a long term thing. Sorry our texts won't appear through iMessages anymore and I understand that's usually a reason enough for you to stop chatting with someone!
