    Default Drywall Taping/Mudding

The g/f is having her basement developed and she is beginging to look for drywall finishers so im hoping someone on here can give me a ball-park price of where quotes should be coming in. All that would need to be done would be a room (~12'x12' plus ceiling w/stipple) then just odds and ends like a closet and the stairwell. The room has no crazy angles or anything, its perfectly square.

Im not expecting exact prices, i just want to know a range where this kinda of work would come in at. Also is this something that can be tackled by home-handyman or is it a "leave it to the pros" task?

    Thanks for the responses

You may want to reconsider stipple ceilings - many people often state it is the easiest way to tell a house from the 80's.

I'd leave it normal, or go for a spanish mud type effect.

As for who can do it - a home handyman has the capabilities of doing a decent job, as this is something that many homeowners tackle on their own.

thanks for the comments about whether or not to tackle the project, as for not doing stipple, i tottaly agree with ya but the pro-stipple opinions are winning the battle.

    anyone got any price-point comments?

We're planning on putting up some celing tile.. not the hanging type.

Not real expensive either, but it gives you some real nice options.
