Depends if you live way in back of a bunch of streets, around a corner, down an alley, by the school, did you pass the store? too far, go past 18 more houses, do a u turn, 3 more alleys and I'm around back, but it like loops around, so I'm really out front..
Umm you just wanna meet at the store on the corner instead...
For me always meet at seller's convenience, like a garage sale. Helps if you want a demo. But if I'm selling I try and offer multiple locations to save on buyers gas - ie, by work in the ne, home in the sw, or if I'm going deep south sometime in the week I suggest meeting then. You're trying to sell something, work to make that sale happen!
It all depends on price.
If you're practically giving stuff away, I think the buyer should pick up.
Otherwise I think that meeting somewhere convenient for both parties would be best.
thats almost as bad as ridicularsOriginally posted by pome902
It shows the buyers also committed so is the selelr and theyre not going to come uo with stupid reasons for bailing by saying their busy or cuddent make it over cuz of some stupid reason ol =D
Personally the buyer should always make it convenient for the seller. This shows that they are serious about the purchase. Either that be meeting half way or going to the sellers place would be totally up to the seller.
I've bought/sold many things here and have had very good experience so far with meeting in the middle and going to the buyer/sellers place. I've had a guy drive his car to me to see cause I couldn't get away from the house, but I made it worth his while and gave back some money for gas and ended up buying the car. I've also delivered free stuff I was giving away.
I seem to always end up with the clows who want me to meet them deep in the NE.

I'm willing to go out of my way to pick something up, but if I'm selling something, they can come meet up with me when its convenient for me. If they actually want it, they'll come get it.
if the sellers wants to meet somewhere i think its shady like hes hiding something
being a seller i would never drive to show a car
i actually had a guy call me and ask me to drive the car to him,
and also ask me to cut him a deal because he was going through a rough time. told him tough shit i guess........like wtf
I would probably be more likely to drive to show a car, only for the reason that I don't like people knowing where I park my car.
I've always met up... Usually closer to them. Depends on the situation really.
Both buying and selling

I meet halfway, well except this one time I had to go someplace pretty damn far (wasn't far for him though)
Depends on the situation and the vibe I get from the person (like if they even have the ability to form a sentence in the correspondence stage). I find women are 100X better to deal with in Kijiji in general - they actually show up, they don't ask you to "deliver to NE", and they don't low ball 40% or "forget" money when they arrive.
If the item is valuable and easily transportable, I'm usually OK with meeting at an external location that is convenient for both of us, otherwise the default is buyer always comes to seller.
11 year bump why?
LOL I didn't even notice, but it showed up in the "What's New", so maybe a forum bug? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I bet if the people who originally posted on here were to post again, their responses would be different. Kijiji has really turned to shit. I always go and pickup, and I always tell people to come and pickup shit at my house. 99% of the time noone shows up or shows up hours later, I don't have time or desire to deal with these people somewhere in the "middle". If someone says I am too far, and it's a small item, I offer them my office location, or if I really want to sell and not getting many bites, and the person seems legit, I will drive downtown for it during lunch hour or whatever as it's not far from my work.
To my when someone asks to meet somewhere, normally it's a straight up no, don't want to waste my time and it shows the person isn't 100% committed to wanting to buy.
I was going to say...it's called a GPS....but then I realized this is an 11 year bump hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
When I lived in a security monitored condo I would have people pick up. At one point I was selling a grip of shoes (100+ pairs) and had 5+ people coming to buy a day. I would buzz them in and meet them in the lobby where the security would oversee everything, or at least there were cameras and it wasn't easy for them to just run out (push button to exit). One time someone wanted to come later in the evening which I was okay with but when he arrived asked me to come outside, weary of his intentions I said I would buzz him in but he never messaged me after that. Glad I wasn't shanked over a pair of $200 shoes lol.
Nowadays I'm always meeting people somewhere very public, like inside a mall.
To pay it forward, I just give everything I don't want away for free through friends.
