Some of you guys use an insane amount of utilities. Last enmax bill was $199 for 2275sqft house, two people. Gas and elec combined.

Turn it down to 17 when you go to bed. Turn it back up when you get home after work.

Not all houses are built equal. Lot of heat loss in cheaper homes (and old ones)

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

267 last month, Fam of 4, 2200+, deep freeze/plasma, 24/7 computers, electric oven/dryer/etc, lots of laundry in an older 1980 house.

I'd be looking for someone spliced into your power doing a grow op...

Our 2011 house shows real-time usage as a number on the meter itself. You can stare at it while somebody inside turns shit on and off and get exact usage numbers. It's how we figured out that my old computer was, at idle, drawing ridiculous amounts of power and that we could leave the furnace fan on all day without feeling bad.

Went from 1500-1800kWh a month down to 900-1100 and a much more comfortable house :P

My last month's bill was $300 for everything combined.

My furnace fans are on all the time and I heat the basement floors and the garage floors. Our 2 furnaces are set to 22 most of the day and 23 when we wake up. The floors in the washroom are set to 27.

I have a bunch of servers and a TV that is on many hours in the day. The highest bill I have seen is $400.

I know if and when gas goes up, things will change.

EDIT: 3400 sqft with a lot of open to above / open to below.

My house is 1700 square foot + 500 squarefoot basement. we have 2 1/2 bath and I usually have one computer running full time. We only have one tv and only use it at night.

Anyway our bill came to $235 last month and our electricity is locked at 8c per Kwh. Thing I found on my last bill was that my water usage had doubled to 20m3 for march. Now i have been having a few baths but nothing more than we would usually have for the other months. Luckily we are moving soon so hopefully it wont be too much of an issue..

A lot of times they'll do an estimated reading one month and an actual reading the next month. If you used more than they estimated on the first month then it'll get tacked on to the 2nd month. If you want to ensure 100% consistency you can report your own meter readings.
