Yes you can paint over top of Plasti-Dip. Its amazing shit. If you don't like the color or how it turns out. Rip it off and start over. And for prepping, I didn't do much. Just washed my rims, dried and then started to Plasti-Dip. No primer needed as it acts as a primer itself.

Heres a pic of my stockers Plasti-Dipped and then painted and clear-coated.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

That last vid makes me want to do my roof with that instead of vinyl. Too many rusting rock chips at the moment and don't want to put out for paint, at this point anyway. Cheaper than vinyl and I could do it myself.

A few other things that would be good for anyway. I didn't know where to get it in Calgary but now I do.

I'd imagine cuz it's plastic it won't chip as easily as spray paint which is why it holds up so well on the rims...

You probably may not need third can for this job. but that's my opinion.

and as to what G-ZUS said, 2 cans maybe be a lot but my coats were pretty heavy and it was my first time doing it

The best part! NO taping off the tires, you just spray on the tires and it peels right offf!!!!!!

My first time doing Plasti-Dipping, I was lazy about taping the rims off, so I used no joke Vaseline all around the tires. It actually worked. Just took it to the car wash and washed off the over spray

Hahah yeahh I guess so. But it was just how I do things. And at the time, I was going to lay a paint coat over it hence why I taped. (With physics notes hahah)

I might do the paint coat when its nicer out lol

Mines been done over 6months now and seen probably 30 car washes. They get washed just like any other rims the stuff is pretty tough until it get a rip in it.

I've had the nozzle real close a bunch of times cleaning bugs off and never had it need a touch up yet.

There is also numerous videos of people on youtube purposely trying to remove the plastidip with a pressure washer from there wheels.

only way for it to come off is if you scratch with your nails and rip it off.

OR in my case, using those bending head torque wrenches and having a minor scratch one of the spokes. it has not come off yet at the scratch
