Over my ideal or recommended weight, but by a lot less than I used to be.

5'10" and 150lbs at 28 years old, a skinny fuck by north american standards but pretty much bang on where I should be.
Based on the Robinson formula (1983), your ideal weight is 156.5 lbs
Based on the Miller formula (1983), your ideal weight is 155.0 lbs
Based on the Devine formula (1974), your ideal weight is 160.9 lbs
Based on the Hamwi formula (1964), your ideal weight is 165.3 lbs
Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, your recommended weight is 128.9 lbs - 174.2 lbs
About 20lbs over ideal, but 18 months ago I was 80lbs over ideal. Still have a bit to go, but happy overall.
I figure at the two year mark, I’ll have lost and maintained enough to hit ideal
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
My personal self-assessed ideal is higher than those calculations, and close to the top end of the BMI range. I'm not currently working hard to reach that though, just working to maintain current improvements while enjoying life and eating enough healthy foods.

I thought we ruled out BMI scales as a health indicator years ago?
I need to lose 30lbs. Not because of BMI as I don't think that's an accurate assessment for people that have muscle mass but 30 lbs is just what I'd like to lose to be where I'd like to be.
I think the term the bros would use is I'm skinny fat. According to that calculator of various measure, I'm 5-10 lbs over ideal. So apparently I'm just fat.
At least I don't look Costanza...yet
Ultracrepidarian
5'4 and 130lbs
Ideal on all accounts
Whoa. I am sure you are 5'6"! 130, I don't recall being 130. May be in grade 7. Good work! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

40 yr old @ 5'10
If I weighed any of those I would look horribly unhealthy.
BMI index is a joke and a horrible measurement tool
LOL I am supposedly obese but I ran 4.5k trail run last week .... almost 45 minutes ....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
38 @ 6’2 and 230lbs according to SP chart I’m overweight I don’t feel fat everywhere except my gut. I would like to lose about 30 lbs
At 6'2" and in my 40's it had my lower range at 142 lbs? I'm pretty sure my bones would weigh that much, how is that possible?
I would have to lose about 30 pounds to get down to my supposed ideal weight. That said, I am probably the most physically fit and strongest I've been in several decades and the scales would still say I'm obese - 30 pounds less would have me looking very skinny. The 20 pounds I've shed in the past year is good I guess, someone I hadn't seen in a few years didn't recognize me today but more white hair was most likely a factor as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Will fuck off, again.
Weight is a meaningless number, at least to me, as it doesn't translate in my mind in to anything since it encompasses so many factors ... I'm completely focused (even obsessed) on body composition/body type (meso, endo, ecto) - what that weight consists of. I'm 25 and 6'1" 188lbs currently, down from 205ish in the winter time bulking mode. The calculator says 189 is the top of the range of ideal weight for me. The last two months I've been doing intermittent fasting with 8 hour window of eating, 16 hours fasting, and feel/look the best I've ever been. I have weird body image e.g. definite case of muscle dysmorphia, but it's not at say...Rich Piana (RIP) level obviously, but ask any person working on building any level of respectable physique, natty or not, and barely anyone can be satisfied. My only goal now is to get better/shredded/vascular and be able to balance and sustain some level of enjoyable life at the same time. Just enough mass to stand out and break necks, but not the type of mass that requires Costco trips that could probably feed a healthy family per week or "hopping on the bike". Now it's working on maximizing my calisthenics & power to weight ratio, achieving that ideal (in my mind) physique, but also enjoying the journey and the people I meet and relationships formed, shared passion, the "high" I get after absolute fatigue after a set or after a workout...and hitting that post workout meal with the mates at whatever restaurant we decide on.
Took a while to fine tune and figure out a sweet spot, here's brief history
I was 5'11" 230lbs at age 14. Mostly fat. And weak.
Dropped to 160-170lbs range by 15-16, felt too skinny and weak.
Hit the cardio and weights just before 16, and haven't stopped since. To me, there's nothing better than an aesthetic fitness lifestyle.
18-19 got back up to 180, 190, 200 etc. packing on mass.
Body provides so much feedback if one can get in tune with it...much like one would with a sports car / race car. All the quirks, features, handling mannerisms, tire grip, fueling, steering feel, power delivery, weight transfer, momentum, etc.
