The last 4/5 trips to K country I have come across Black Bears. Mostly while bird hunting out there so nothing but bird shot on my person. One instance was a mom and 2 cubs and I had no spray and only a 22 with me at 30y. They are everywhere out there.

When they stand up to look at you, it really makes the heart start pumping.

Also on this topic, a worker at a DEW Line (or whatever its called now) station up in Nunavut became a polar bear snack just a week or two ago.

That's a cool picture. I've had way too many bears on my camera out at my property. Some big ones as well.... not a fan. Been bugging friends to go shoot em for me but no one ever bothers.
