    Default Difficult to replace coil pack(s) and idle air-control valve?

    My '98 Ford Crown Vic has three components that need replacing:

    * oil-pressure-sender unit
    * idle air-control valve
    * the number 5 coil pack

    I've replaced the pressure sensor on my old Olds Regency...messy but easy; I assume it won't be too much more trouble for the Crown Vic

    I've never replaced the IAC valve or coil packs (I'm a fearless do-it-yourselfer...brakes, p-s pumps, rear springs & shocks, etc, but I don't even know what the IAC or coil packs look like or where they're located). How difficult is it for someone with no prior knowledge to replace these? The dealer wants ~$500...no way.

    Go to Auto Value and they will give you instructions or just buy a Haynes or Chilton manual.

    I'm not actually looking for directions on how to do it at this point; I have a Haynes manual...but no access to it at the moment...if the replacement procedures are in there, it's a no-brainer...just wasn't sure they were, and I can't check, hence my post/question. Should I take from your reply that these procedures are in there or that these parts can indeed be replaced fairly easily?

    Ah screw it...I'm just gonna order the IAC valve tonight, pick up all three in the morning and see I can't get the car to blow up or something.

    IACV is just screwed onto the side of the intake. Should be damn easy depending on what's in the way.
