Household/Room Air Purifier

My room is always getting dusty even though I clean it all the time. Probably my dead skin but my allergies is acts up like mad. Sometimes I can't breathe, so then I don't even bother studying in my room.

I am wondering what type/brand of air purifiers you guys have at home? I was looking at the Oreck XL air purifier at Costco and it seems pretty good. However, there are always those people online that dislike it. Bad thing is it costs ~$300.

i bought a Honeywell air purifier for my room at home depot...it's cylinder in shape so air comes in and out from all directions...it cost like $100 at the time

There are different sizes and configurations depending on your needs.

I read up a LOT on this and lots of air purifiers are junk.

I saw that one at home depot online but it looks really big! It's cool how it purifies the air in all directions though.

The Sharp Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier looks kind of small to function as a purifier? Do you have this one too?
I just googled it and it looks pretty decent for the price. Also, I heard the filters are really expensive to replace (cost just as much as the unit itself!), which is a downside compared to the Oreck XL air purifier (permanent washable filter).
