Welcome, my friend. You have joined the ranks of convention going geeks. I was stumbling all over my tongue when I met Summer XD They're patient and understanding though, and they've seen it enough times to know you're just having a fanboy moment and it's normal

It's kinda odd... you spend so much time working up to the con, and in just over 48 hours it's over, done, stopped. All that crowd energy, the buzz of poring through the comic book tables to get that issue before someone else does, the haggling with vendors over the toys that say "Reasonable Offer," all the cool things to see and do, all of that... and you realize it's a year away (well, 10 months in this case, so for shortened wait time)

I wanted to high five Shat when I got my pic but the thing was such a fucking assembly line "Stand next to him after this group" (photog takes photo of family w/ shat, I move in)

Shat: "Hey, hows it going?"
Me: "Not bad, how are yo..."
Photog: "Look here" *Snap* "Next"

I understand that they gotta move through the lines pretty quick but man it would have been nice to at least exchange a few words with the man.

Ya I hear ya. I didn't even get into position for my photo and by the time I looked up, I saw a flash and I was herded off. Basically said "hi" and "thanks". I didn't look that great as a result either.

Oh well... perhaps one year they'll be back for re-shoots.

Con flu, day 2. Working from home (thankfully I can do that). And this, boys and girls, is why you take your vitamins over the con weekend, because apparently they do FUCK ALL. Sigh.

Next year, I may just go rub my face on a flu patient at the hospital a week before the Con so I can build up an immunity -_____-

It's as much as moving the herd as Shat hates the chit chat as I was told. 40 odd years of cons will probably do that to a man.

Only way to get Shat to chat a few more words with you is bring a small kid.

Only the crew around him get personalized autograph. Everyone else get just standard autograph.

Hopefully I won't be busy next year. Seems to be every time the con comes around, a major IT outage is planned on the same weekend for me.
