In 1 more year we can legally bring a 1989 Skyline GT-R (R32) into Canada. They sell for pretty cheap over in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought one or 2 and started work on them as a project car in anticipation for Jan 2004.

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
i think a brand new skyline , GTR, after motorex, is $90,000 american
not positive
I want a 1990 Skyline GTR in 2005, how much you think it will be??
according to superstreet, 78,000 Min for R34 from motorex
Motorex prices are super high because they invested a lot of money to crash test R32, R33, and R34's for import. All those models are legal for import and registration in the States if it's through Motorex. If you buy any of those models in Japan, you can pay Motorex about $30k usd to "federalize" it for US registration. You still can't register it in Canada.
On Jan. 2004, you can register Jan 1989 build cars in Canada without having to pass any certifications or conversions, meaning you can go to Japan, but a '89 R32 GT-R for around $25k cdn, and ship it over without any problems. The beauty of the 15 year old rule.

Don't they crash test cars overseas? Are crash tests different from country to country?Originally posted by rage2

Yes they differ from country to country. Motorex had to make a bunch of mods to pass US certification.Originally posted by max_boost

maybe thats why their shop is always empty up front...
They spent their money importing cars instead of selling product!!!
I wonder if motorex makes a big profit or not.

still...your saying that you wouldn't pay 25 grand to have a super rare car, not to mention one that is fast as shit (wait, i forgot you already have one)....well you know what i mean...
if you lived in the US, you can get an R34 tuner version from Motorex. Its somewhere around the 100K USD mark. It puts out over 500 whl HP. C&D tested 0-60 at 3.9 sec and 1/4 mile at [email protected]!!!!
"Its because they're stupid, that's why. That's why everyone does everything."
If cheap skylines are what you are looking for, then search them up in Austrailia. skylines are a dime a dosen over there. Basically the number skylines they got modded up over there equals the number of hondas we mod over here!
Last I saw there was a fully Greddy prepped R33 pushing 750hp selling for around 45000CAD
I found a mildly tuned 500hp 1989 R32 last night for about $30k cdn... time to check how much money I have in my piggy bank.
