Car Theives on the Loose

today at E.P. Scarlett, my high school there were 2 guys about age 20-25 in a turquoise Celica GTS in our parking lot stealing stereo systems.

my friend was actually walking towards his car when it was being broken into (last of 3 cars) he heard a door closing when he was like 20 feet away and saw a guy with a mustache walking away, when he realized his window was smashed him and another friend of mine chased this guy on foot then he got in his turqoise Celica GTS (2nd most recent gen) where there was a driver waiting for him and they booked it off

my friend got back to his car and his deck was half hanging out, but two or three other cars got broken into and all the decks, and some amps, and subs were stolen.

i was lucky i had my car parked about 5 cars away from my friends and i had my deck with faceplate and everything sitting there but i think my tint probably helped, its really dark and he might not have seen my deck

anyways everybody please watch out for this car, who knows but it could be the same people from other incidents

wtf is with all this theives around the world......my friend got her integra stolen after just buying it like 3 hours ago...and i got my digi cam stolen from my car..

Tinting your windows is not a theft deterent system. If I were a thief, tint is what I would look for. You know he's trying to hide something..

did this car have any unique features? dents, ect.. also does you school have security tapes from the parking lot? if so, have them release the tapes to the calgary police.

Thats exactly why I refuse to spend alot of cash on a nice deck.

But if I spend alot of cash under the hood....the thieves wont know its there....

hah in grandin last year the nicest car was a type R with c/f hood racing seats dropped, i/e/h cams and more.....

and yeah tint isnt a theft deterent but its easier to break a window without tint and if you blatantly see a deck in a car without tint instead of wondering if the tinted car has anything in there, they would probably go for what they see

I went to Wisewood, I think we had 3 camera's on the parking lot, I think every high school should have them.

Just because they say there are no video camera's doesn't mean there isn't one, I think our school only let us know about 2 of the camera's and there is one hidden one, I wouldn't be surprised if your school has at least one video camera on the lot.

I graduated from Scarlett too. And even when I was in school there were some problems with break ins. I think Scarlett is actually one of the few schools who don't have cameras in their parking lots.
