it's that time again!

so who's going and to watch or race?

I'm on a full gas tank with no mods from last time so i will only watch!

aleks duncan you guys will try out the new mods for sure right?

i'm guessing mid to low 12 for duncan and about 13.5 for aleks

Yeah I'm there for sure. I'm thinking a bit better than your guess if I can hook properly.

same wheels and tires?

Aleks
09-01-2005, 12:12 PM
Yep, altough I am thinking of taking Duncan's/my old 15's for a few passes. ;)

looking forward to seeing some really fast cars run this friday!

Mr_ET
09-01-2005, 12:17 PM
yeah but duncan has all seasons on there lol:P

get some bfg's!

i'm thinking your mph will be around 112-115

but 13.5 or faster will be hard cause oftraction issues

you are already getting mad wheelspin off the line and that was with 56hp less..

get some 14's some drag radials and then 13.2 13.3 would be quite doable

Aleks
09-01-2005, 12:22 PM
I don't think I'll get the drag radials for this season. I am on stock axels and launching hard with so much torque would risk destroying them. I'll just use old gpomp as a guage to see how much our stock setups can take  :poosie:

Mr_ET
09-01-2005, 12:26 PM
good stuff

i want a b16 now :(

instead i'm getting the ef repainted at the end of the month so i'll be clear of rust for 2-3 years

watch out august next year i will be b series powered!

what did ggomp do with his old turbo d setup?

Aleks
09-01-2005, 12:29 PM
Sold the entire thing turbo and all. He was asking like 1200 bux it was a good deal!

the car had made 393 on a mustang dyno

car dyno'd at 409 last weekend

the car definatly has 11's in it, just have to get my launch sorted out! not gonna get there with 2.0 60' times

They should televise the race on shaw channel 10 every friday night. That would make for good tv. Woudnt even need to be high tech, just set up a camera, no editing no comercials.

Then those of us with a social cordinator that thinks racing is a waste of time could get action from both camps:poosie:

i catch pretty good lights but my 60 foots are pretty bad

I'm going I think, but I have some tuning issues... may just try to AutoX tonight and maybe a few drags on street tires... I'm bogging bad though right now, so I won't be expecting good times. That's what happens when you're tuned for sea level. :(

And GSR_aaron with a 103mph trap speed.

got 16.11 @ 88 mph. with 2.47 60' time.

it was the last run with modded SER spec V

and it's about 0.25 sec faster than my first night.

Well

^^^ This guy convinced me to go race in the AutoX for the first time ever in any car....

I think I did damn well. Heres how my runs went after a quick ride around the course with rice_eater

1.) 73.56
2.) 71.54
3.) 71.38
4.) 70.19
5.) 70.43
6.) 69.34
7.) 69.41
8.) 68.12
9.) 68.45
10.68.52
11.) 68.50
12.) 67.72

The fastest car there was a specV (SilverBoost??)Nissan turbod that ran a 66.xx
Second was rice_eaters 2.0 SX with adjustable struts and 17x7 wheels who ran a 67.17
Third was me - my first time out ever in any car - Bone stock 94 Sunbird (2.0L Sohc 5spd) only mod is some 16x6" wheels - This car has no stock sway bars or strut bars

I'll be there again next week

What a BLAST!
:D

Aleks
09-03-2005, 01:51 AM
I ran 13.445 @ 107 mph as my best tonite. My fastest trap was 110mph :burnout:

Still my best 60ft was 2.214 :banghead: I was too scared to try full boost off the line tonite. Maybe next week.

bleh. i had a boost leak all night, was running low boost. the car would've been good for another 80-90whp if it weren't for the leak :thumbsdow

best time was 13.3 @ 109

edit: ran 13.3 six times, at least it's consistently slow :guns:

Yeah my 1/4 mile here sucks... can't break 14s... too much fuel in thew top end and it boggs hard... I just can't seem to tweak it here for the 1/4. Here's my best time at sea level though -- what the car was tuned for.

http://www.importeast.ca/specv/slip.jpg

It was a blast in the AutoX though... first time I've ever tried it. First run I spun around twice... but the 3rd and last run felt good... I certainly didn't think I would have gotten the best time though. I've found a new love for Fridays nights now for sure.

Yeah I'm almost considering street tunign it with my wideband.... I'd need someone to come along though and help me by watching the gauges... just can't seem to get it runnign right here in Calgary. It's like a completely different car at lower elevation.

Also, thanks to the AUTOX guys last night who gave me some tips... awesome time!!

It's truely amazing how much of a difference altitude makes but i heard that it effects turbos more than anything.

I don't know if you remember me or not but I met you a while back, i'm the guy with the bright ass yellow mustang. :) Anyway, if you ever need any help tuning let me know I'd love to help out..

Elevation affects NA cars more because you can turn up the boost to compensate with turbo cars.

The problem with his car is he's using a S-AFC for tuning, not a standalone. It's an ECU designed for a NA car with a piggyback hack to get proper fueling. That's why it's affected so bad for elevation.

that Focus was Rob's one. he is CFOC(Calgary Focus Owners Club) owner and has some skill on Auto-X.

that was not a SVT one but a ZX3 with I/E, SVT suspension.

I got a 15.0 that night. Not bad for 3900lb luxury car.

Few times I forgot to turn off traction control. DOH! Made it look pretty silly siting there at the lights only moved an inch and have to wait 4 seconds for the ecu to allow air again into the intake, then finally start down the track.

Everytime you turn the key off the traction control automatically turns on and you have to puch the button to turn it off.

I thoght u said me ur car is GS300 not a 430.

15.0 is good. and did u use Brake-torque whlie launch?

I know your car is automatic. but still GS430 is the fastest car in Lexus line.
