Expect V8 magic when BMW unveils its E90-series M3, though that won’t happen until 2007. We hear BMW plans 400-plus hp transmitted through a seven-speed sequential manual gearbox. BMW will offer a six-speed manual and possibly an automatic as an option. We also hear rumblings of the return of the four-door M3—absent from the E46 range—to complement the coupe and convertible lineup.

Makes me wonder if it isn't a BMW 335 test mule rather than the M3. The M cars always have a quad exhaust.

The 335 is supposed to be a turbo.

Food for thought.

I was unaware that there was going to be a BMW 335. and I don't doubt you that there will be. However, it is against BMW philosophy to used forced induction, thus I find the idea of BMW using a turbo hard to believe.

PS I am aware the the Mini is supercharged but then again it doesn't were the BMW Badge.:burnout:

You should check on your BMW history.

The M1 concept was also turbo charged.

Many of their racing cars were turbo charged as well. So I am not sure of the philosophy you speak of. All of their Diesels in Europe are Direct injection Turbo charged engines as well.

They finally realized that being stubborn all these years and not going forced induction is making them losers in the power race.

The 3L twin turbo 330hp E90 335i is coming in 2006 (MY2007?). The E90 M3 comes in 2007 (MY2008?) with a 4.0L 400hp V8 derived from the 5.0L 500hp V10 in the new M5.

Speaking of BMW history, there's a Z1 for sale at Crowfoot BMW ;).

I knew that in the past BMW had used turbo engines but not to the extent you have proven. However, I believe BMW did not wish to use forced induction. Well, it seems they have given up. About the diesels, of course they are turbo charged non-turbo charged diesels suck.

Don't forget the old 2002Tii's were available as a turbo as well (late 60's, 70's?)

That looks more like the M3 than a 335, it's fenders are flared.....the exhaust could be a number of reasons...namely to disguise it...
