Abit of topic but my buddy bought a 96 neon, auto with 71k and its in good condition apart from flaking coating, and he got it for 800 bux, I don't care if it is a neon, thats a pretty damn good price, lucky basterd.

No problem, I would go for it aswell, who cares if its a neon, it will get you from A to B and thats what a car is meant for.

51,000 KM? That's really low, too low. Maybe she's trying to rip you off?

it's my grandma!!!! she's to old to think about ripping me off.
no it's for real, she lived 2 minutes from work. then she retired, and she doesn't drive the highway to visit anyone.

so it's legit

i'd be careful with a car that age with such low kilometers. it may need a lot of seals replaced due to age and low use. i would plan to change the following if you drive it regularly over the next 6 months:

cam seal(s)...(is it sohc or dohc?)
rear main seal
oil pressure sensor seal
50/50 chance on headgasket if it is not the mls one
possibly injector o-rings
possibly spark plug seals

this is only if it hasn't been serviced regularly (should be time based servicing rather than mileage based)
