I drive an 02 Stock VW Golf GL

I've saved up my money and I have got ~2100 CDN saved up, first thing I'd like to do is replace the 15 hub capped steel rims that are in there right now.

The car is indigo blue and I'm in calgary, right now I've been looking around the net and so far what I've found is these at tirereack.com (http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/CallJsp?target=wheelSearchCloseUp&wheelIndex=56&sizeIndex=1&showRear=no) which I can afford.

A question about those: How is Mille for durability etc?

And where can I get this sorta stuff in calgary, I know about contemporary and tunerworks and if I went there what sorta prices would I be looking at?

I've heard that the mille miglias are somewhat soft and can warp if you hit a decent sized pot hole.

Normally I wouldn't say this because I only really like metallic looking rims, but with indigo blue, if it's the blue I'm thinking of some good white rims might look pretty nice. 17's would look really good on that car, it's not that big so I don't think 18's are necessary.

If you're looking at wheels, I suggest looking at some Canadian wheel places, you'll save a few bucks on shipping and duties.

Some good ones are www.tiretrends.ca and www.1010tires.ca

Btw, congrats on the VW!

with 2100 bones you should have no problem getting some really nice wheels and tires here in calgary...try autozeal, tunerworks, and speedtech...those are the only shops in calgary that I have dealt with and they are all really good depending on what you are looking for.
Actually with 2100 you should lower it and get some wheels...

The mille migla's aren't structurally the strongest wheels, but from my experience with potholes on my miglia's i didn't have a problem with them warping. However, the lip on the wheels did take a decent ding! On the brighter side of things is the overall paint/finish on the Mille Miglias. Most wheels around that price don't even compare in the paint/finish quality.

For the golf i would actually suggest some 18's. I've seen 17's on there and they just don't fill that wheel well.

18's start to get to be alot more money, at least from what I've seen on the net. Tommorow I'm gonna head around town and see what kinda deals I can get there.

Anyone wanna help me out on brands, I mean I like to think I'm smart enough to pick out decent looking ones but its tougher to tell the toughness of the rims w/o driving on em for a while.

And would anyone care to help me out with where to go?

I can drive obviously but its a pain in the ass to drive all around the city, so where would everyone say to head, I'm in the south.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what sorta rims I should look at, I found a sweet deal on some Tenzo RS-5 18's for 2180 with rubber.

Anyone have any suggestions?
