Who here has the 'wimpy engine' version of their car? im talking like v6 camaro's, d15 civics, bmw 318 etc...

I got a base model car, the 2.2L 120hp cavalier. The Z24 has a 2.4L 140hp.

I've got a base model, but swapped in the best motor available for my year! Lightweight AND decent power.. lotsa fun. I kinda miss air conditioning in the summertime tho!

My sis has an X5 3.0i, and my dad drives an S430. M3 only has one engine option though...does that make my car base? Although, I do have the SMG-II model...

no, tranny is good in SH.
SH has same tranny as base.

Its the SS (sportshift) that sucks.

SH has ATTS, which works more like a LSD than traction control.
But the unit does get in the way and there are not many aftermarket parts made for the SH because of this.

I am not 100% whats happening with my civic. If I keep it I will probably swap it out for a b18b than turbo that. Or I will just do minor engine mods on the d16y7.

But hey, the d16y7 has done well and can hit some good speeds, just takes time to hit those speeds.

had d15b2 but swapped in a d15b1. lost 20hp but it only costs me a little over $10 to get from calgary to edmonton.
oh to add to the baseness i got:
no passenger side mirror
no center console
had vinyl seats
no tilt steering
no stereo
no clock
no paint on bumpers
black center panel on the trunk.
no passenger visor mirror

I used to drive the base model, 89 Probe lx ( base model engine ) 110hp.. I was going to mod that and swap in a new engine and what not. But decided to get the GT and man am I glad I got that, I am still doing an engine swap but the stuff you WONT have even if you do an engine swap adds up... Plus the power is from night to day
any of you going to mod your car I suggest geting the better model first, unless you plan on dragging it
