Spotted NYPD Car Downtown

On the way home from work last night around 2:30am there was a NYPD cop car parked out on the other side of the road from the Palliser hotel along with a few pylons and a budget rental truck behind it

didnt have my camera on me but you all know what an NYPD car looks like...but wtf was that doing in calgary? maybe a movie?

They've been in Calgary for like at least 3 weeks now....I saw them a couple weeks ago with a ton of trailers in the ghetto area behind City Hall.

Probably a function of cost. Besides, at the street level they'll probably never tell. Mix in a few New York skyline shots and 99% of the public will sit there and eat there popcorn.

its a movie based in harlem.

There using calgary for some parts, there using my high school cafeteria to represent a harlem cafeteria, and the school yard and shit.

When i left school on friday there were a bunch of guys spray painting up my school where the basketball courts are.. HAHAHAHAHAHA

I filmed a movie in Queen Elizabeth before a couple years back.. they filmed a classroom scene, a hallway scene, an outdoor scene (there's an entrance from the cafeteria to the basketball court) as well as the front of the school... it was an american movie about a group of spoiled rich high school kids that used drugs, and one of them dies from overdose. Based on a true story...

they used prolly 100 calgary students for the school scenes and about 40 calgary students for the mansion party scene.. all shot over a weekend one summer.

I'm surprised they don't film it in Vancouver. E hasting definitely a better ghetto than any part of Calgary.

The Ron Clark story is being filmed here AND in New York. This posed a dillema for Canadian casting directors trying to find actors here because when they go to New York they need work visas. Getting a work visa in the US for anything other than a doctor, teacher or nurse is about as easy as getting spare change from a bum.
