K first off...where do i get a distrobution block that has an input for 2-4guage wire with an output for three 4-guage wires?

second...i have two of these... http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10043439&catid=11031&logon=&langid=EN

and i will be running 2 mtx 12"s off of them. Now my question is how would i go about combining the two amps or bridging them so that both subs get the same power and frequency and what not from the amps?

i can hook the subs up individually to each amp but then all the things on the amps would have to be matched up exactly such as gain, subsonic filter.

btw need to know asap starting install tomorrow

what deck are you using? And what box are you using are they seperate chambers?

The deck is an pioneer AVIC-N1 and the box is a dual 12 sledgehammer box
theres also a rear flip down monitor connected to the head unit

I would just use the X-overs in the deck, amp. the subs each with there own amp and properly match the amp gains. Are the subs each in there own air space?

yah it looks as though im going to just have to couple up the sub with an amp seperately.

its a bandpass box and both subs are running on the same airspace not individual compartments.

correct me if im wrong tho its a sledgehamer box from mtx i havent seen the inside as my subs came in the box

If it's a Sledgehammer box it's vented NOT bandpass. Also what does the terminal cup on the back of the box say 2 or 4 ohm? I have to check for sure but depending on the subs you may be able to strap the amps together on the box. Also if the is somthing your not sure about you can go to www.mtx.com and they have a tech support e-mail, they also can be very heplful. Unfortunetly i don't deal with the MXA amps, so i'm not 100% sure on what they'll do.

what do you mean by strap together the amps on the box?

ohh and another thing i forgot to ask was each amp will be pushing out 800watts rms...and the subs i have are 2000rms a piece and im running 4 guage wire through the car. In total there will be about 1800 watts cuz i have a 4 channel running my speakers so is 4 guage sufficient or will i have to upgrade the main line from the battery to the distro block to a 2 guage?

MTX doesn't have subs that are 2000watts RMS so you may want to check on that. The amps you have will put out 800 RMS @ 2 ohms, and 400 @ 4 ohms.

What i meant by straping is the amps together, but i am NOT sure you can do this with the MXA amps. Also IF you can it will depend on what ohms your box is.

Oh and you'll want to go to 0 g. wire, i of course would recommend the Streetwires avalible at The Car Salon, talk to jonathan.

k plans have a changed a little...going with one amp since the amps cant be "straped" together. Only way is through a processor which is available through mtx which is another 600 some dollars.

and the subs are pro subs from mtx nothing you can buy in stores...had them special ordered

What model are they? I work for MTX and the 9500 series are still only 1000watts RMS and they are the biggset sub we have besides the jack Hammer. If the subs are from Future Shop like the amps then you can't get anything that big (9500 series).

yah my mistake 2000rms for the both so 1000rms each

you think that one of those amps will be good enough for these subs?

800 watts to two 9500's? sounds like a waste of money to me, you won't even be pushing the subs near their potential

I was running my Demo car with about 850 on one 9512 and it was LOUD, the demo car i'm going to be doing next has 2 9512's and 3000w RMS.

I'm guessing the box was from A+B?
You'er going to run both 9512's with one MXA8001?
I would look at doing a TA81001 amp from MTX instead. Talk to Jonathan @ The Car Salon he'll give you a good price

no box and subs are direct from mtx through futureshop

and whats the diff. between the mxa8001 and the ta81001?

Chris @ Mitek

The big differance is the TA amp is the Thuder series. power is almost double and the amp is able to run at 1 ohm, it's fan cooled and has more adjustment, it also has a 3 year warrenty and is a cleaner sounding amp as it use far better components. The amps avaliable at FS are the value line where as the Thunder are a couple steps up, you do pay more but it's well worth it. A TA81001 should retail for about $1300

Also which FS did you get your Sledgehammer from?

The nice thing with the TA amps is you would only need one. Also can you let me know for sure which FS they are from, and that they are 9500's

Thanks,
