Hoping someone can give me a hand. I have a JL audio 300/4 amp, a set of MB Quart 5.25 reference components (RCE 213) and two 6" JL subs. I had both frequency filters set to 120, but when I proceeded to crank the volume up (decently loud) they started farting. I played around with the filters after they begun doing this moving them up into the 400+ range which did eliminate the farting but also stopped any lower range sound from coming out my mids. Confusing part is that the speakers frequency response is 52 – 32.000. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do I continue to play with the filters until I find a happy medium where the mids are putting out some low range? maybe turn the filter off completely?. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
