yeah it was friggin fun!

i think one of two things happened:

the timing jumped, a LOT

or it ran too lean and a valve(s) went bye-bye

i shouldn't say it'll be my last run... heh

k well since you, and most other people, probably want to know...

I finished installing it, made a couple of runs, was hella impressed, went for another run, shifted into third gear, a second or two later, revs start goin up and down, truck slows down, engine dies.

It'll turn over... but it's really really rough.

Sounds, like it's not properly tuned.

Did you check the plugs after each run to see if you had detonation.

What type of kit do you have?

I've had no problems with mine and I gone through 5 or 6 bottles so far!!!!

An S-10!!!

I have friends that have run nitrous on a S-10, you just have to use a small shot!

i think it ran too lean but i'll know tomorrow when i rip open the engine, i'll check the plugs then too, but i'm pretty sure it's a valve busted

Hopefully you didn't do to much damage.

You have to be careful, when running nitrous, mainly at the start, to make sure it's working right. After the intial trials, it becomes fun!!

yeah i think my fuel pump didn't have enough get-up-and-go to supply the amount of fuel I needed

or at least that's rages theory

Yes that could be.

was this in a 2.2?????? Sounds like a good excuse for a 383 swap :D

LOL, "amatuers don't use nitrous oxide"

How you think that kit would hold up in my 3L pushrod?

Sorry to hear it man...

Was you making sure the throttle was pretty much on full while nitrous was on, or maybe you was running it on a cold engine, but it should not do that:dunno:

man... i think i almost seen this one comming... did you atleast have a fuel pressure guage to make sure the fuel pressure was up when spraying? or even a POS autometer air/fuel guage? did you double check if you have the right jets in?... i've seen lots of people blow up with both wet/dry kits....... as simple as it seems its all in the install. if you don't install it right your asking for it.

Hey bol,

I've seen the way you drive, you got a heavy foot. Amatuers don't use nitrous oxide. You'll blow yourself to bits!

Damn what's up lately dood?

Again Bol I was sorry to hear about your trouble.

I have had good luck with my wet kit so far, the only problems that I have had have been sheer stupidity on my part.

eg.

outside temp= 5 degrees C
Bottle pressure= 700PSI FULL.

Gords thinking= "How bad can it be? I should just be a little rich right?"

Actual Fact= 90hp jets at 700psi on the nitrous equates to about the equivelent of 30hp jets at 1000 psi. To say I ran rich was an understatment! My poor little truck belched out a 20 foot cloud of smoke as it tried to digest 90hp worth of fuel and 30hp worth of nitrous.

My timeslip for that run was 24 seconds at a little over 60 mph.

I am just sorry that your nitrous mishap was damaging, I was lucky and wound up just looking stupid.

Let me know what you decide to do for the fix...
