Very Nice (as I just posted on Nex)
Although that wood trim is less then desireable (nothing that a carbon fiber dash and a momo shift knob won't fix ;) )
Have fun with the car.

The doors probably have wood trim on them to so theres no point in changing the trim around the console. New shift knob is a must though. Nice car man.

Well we also own a 2000 Passat V6 and from what i've heard and read (havent needed to change the belt yet) you need to change the timing belt tensioner along with the belt because it's actually the tensioner that tends to fail, not the belt. Also alot of people reccomend changing the water pump at the same time as well. I think the job would run somewhere around $500 - $1000 (alot of its labor) depending on where you go for the belt + tensioner. Apparently it takes a while to change everything. But better to be safe than sorry I guess.

Go to the back of the car...open the trunk...and possibly on the left side there should be some space for an aid kit...open that up and ur passat prob came with a 6cd changer! thats how most vw are made! tell me if u find it in there! if not then there prob should be a spot for it and the guy took it out!

give it a check!

Well if you like working on the car yourself, I know theres a DIY tutorial online that I can probably find to show you how to do it yourself... takes a good 8 or so hours. Other than that, since your dealing with the timing belt and the tensioners I would see how much the stealership charges and then look in the phonebook for some german auto shops and check around there. I dont know what shops to go to since we havent had too many problems with ours and most of the maintinance done on our car (ie. Brakes, Tie rod ends) have been done by ourselves. I wouldnt cheap out tho, because if they screw up the timing belt/tensioner and it goes then your engine is basically done.

well then u might want to talk to the guy u bought the car off of and see if he took it out! i would guess no because they are an extra 500 bux when u buy the car new...but if i was u i would just get a used one or new one whatever u prefer and its an easy install. plug and play. because on the monsoon radio that u already have in there there is a button for the cd changer and to select all the cds!

this is what i did to my mk4 golf because some jackass took out the cd changer so i got a new one, installed in 2 min and ran it from the radio in the front!

but then again if u plan on running a amp and some subs the cd changer ISNT a good idea!

good luck with the choice! hopefully i was some help!

Changers suck, I like being able to change CDs without having to park and get out. Get a nice single CD deck...

Nice passat :)

I'd rather pay the extra cash and let someone do it professionaly.. On brakes, tires, rotors oil, I can change that myself, I'm gunna call and ask..

thanks :)
