I must say that is a really good looking car, I have never been a big hyundai fan at all but they definately got the looks right on this one IMO.

And that kit and wheels look damn good.

A guy on beyond has a sonata (last body) with body kit, it's actually pretty cool.

Not a big fan of Hyundai though, but I have to say, with the body kit and wheels, that's pretty attractive. I really like it, looks a lot like a Saab, but better.

I'm confused...

I'm looking at a Hyundai, and I'm enjoying looking at it.

I don't get it.

That's a sweet looking Honda Accord/Acura EL ripoff.

I think the reason why Hyundai cars are starting to be more attractive is because the styling looks a lot like that of other manufacturers.

^ WHAT? That looks nothing like the honda abored. The EL is a civic by the way and this looks nothing like a civic either.

That hyundai is hot and with 10 yr 100000km warranty they are sure to do very well...

That would tempt me to go import...almost.

because its got a kit on it.

Hyundai needs 100k km warranty because thats the only way it'll attract customers. How many hyundais are at 100k+ km??

benyl
09-15-2005, 10:26 AM
plenty.

Even if it was a way to attract customers, if they built their cars to a shitty standard, then they would lose their shirt on warranty claims.

I think the rear looks a lot like an accord and the front looks a lot like an EL. Even if not total copy, it's very similar.

And German cars are considered imports aren't they? :P

Today's Hyundais are very reliable cars but they need the extra warranty as a selling point because the Pony was such a shitty car and people still remember it.

front reminds me off a cross between evo and a Saab

back is total accord rip off

When looking at it from a side view, I almost get a BMW type look to it. One of the nicest Hyundai's I've ever laid eyes on.

It seems to look pretty decent for a Hyundai Sonata. Still don't see myself ever buying one though...

You know Acura is just the luxo brand for Honda right? The EL is a civic.

I have recently purchased the 2006 Sonata GLS V6 (235 bhp) for a daily/winter driver and I gotta tell you guys, This car is the highest quality/refinement car I have ever owned. Hyundai has come a long way and for all of you Hyundai haters you should actually do some research on this car before you keep hating. The Sonata has been rated #1 in initial quality beating the Accord and the Camry in 2004 and 2005. This car has been totally redesigned and the bar was raised once again, while the competiton has not done so yet with their models. This car is really a class act. Hyundai as a company has been rated #2 in initial quality matching Honda and coming in behind Toyota that was rated #1 (as a company).

There is no bones about it guys. The Sonata is a great quality car. The sound levels at idle and cruising are lower than the Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda vehicles of this class. at 70 mph the sound level is only at 67db. Thats quiet. This is understandable since when Hyundai designed this car they were not looking at the Accord and Camry for levels of standard, they were looking at Lexus for interior sound levels and Audi for quality of materials/fit and finish.

Oh and in Canada Hyundai does not offer the 10 year/100,000mile warranty its only 5 years and 100,000 km bumper to bumper which is still better than the competition.

Hey but why spill all this myself why don't you read about it yourself, here are some links, I got more if you want, I really did my research before I bought this car:

Hyundai is what Honda and Toyota were when they first came to North America. They started with cheap, economical cars, and have moved upscale in quality and refinement. In 10 years or maybe even 5, I think it will be just as liked as the other top import brands.
This is a sweet looking car

Actually according to the quality reports and articles on the matter, they say that it took Hyundai half the time to drastically improve their quality when compared to the Japanese manufacturers. Hyundai does not need 10 to 5 years to catch up to be one of the top import brands. If you do your research you will see that they are allready there, its just that the majority of people don't realize it yet.

The Sonata was rated #1 in initial quality for 2004 and 2005 beating the Accord and Camry. Hyundai as a company tied Honda for 2nd place. I'd say Hyundai of today is not what Honda and Toyota was 10 years ago. Obviously Hyundai is on a level playing ground at this time. The 2006 Sonata was redesigned and the bar was raised way high. The quality of this vehicle is absolutely awesome. I still open and close all my 4 doors in the garage like an idiot, just to hear that sweet sound of quality when the door shuts.

I'd say this is a perfect time to buy a Hyundai, youre getting a good quality product at a discounted price. Wait till everyone realizes this and Hyundai won't be any cheaper then the rest of the asian imports. It will be just like what happened with Honda and Toyota, once they were commonly accepted as quality vehicles, prices went up.
